Laura woke up with a heavy headache. The first thing she did was roll to her side in an attempt to stop her headache but was met with the hard floor. She fell down on her bed and instead got a greater headache.
"Damn it!" was the first thing she said for a beautiful sunshine morning.
Laura slowly crawled back to her bed but was quickly interrupted by a phone call. Though she is not pleased with the call, she hastily concluded that the call must be important since she's using a different ringtone for people she prioritized. She cleared her throat before answering with a simple "Hello".
"Hey, did I woke you up?" a sweet baritone voice sounded on the other end. She looked at the number calling and realized that it was her upperclassman- her favorite by far.
"Oh, hi Wayne. Don't worry I was already awake," she replied sweetly.
"I'm glad. Anyway, I called because our meet-up tomorrow got rescheduled later. Is that fine with you?"
What? Of course, it's not okay! This is such short notice.
"Yes, I'm fine with it," she said with a fake smile as if he was standing in front of her.
Duh. Why did I even bother to smile?
"Great! We'll meet at the library at 10 am. See you there, Laura." he said before he hung up.
Laura was about to sleep back again when she caught a glimpse of the time on her home screen.
What the heck?!! Was it already 9:10 am??? How am I supposed to get there in under 50 minutes?? I need at least an hour to get a ride!
At that thought, she shoots up like an arrow and moves in a flash to the bathroom.
I need to get out of the house in 10 minutes if I want to be "slightly" late. Damn it. Wayne, you better be thankful I like you, or I would have smashed your head out of this world.
