The moment my feet touched the path of my home's garden , I immediately felt the burden of these couples weeks get off my back .
I took a deep breath and started walking to the front door of my house, Jacob being behind me .
We didn't talk that much in the way here , but I feel that we're getting more civilized by the hour.
I press the grey button with my nickname on it and I start bouncing my leg impatiently while biting my lower lip , the smile on my face hurting the tissue of my cheek in result of how long I've being doing it.
As I wait a couple more minutes I ring again .
" What's making them so long " i say turning to face Jacob who is standing right behind me
" I don't know " he shrugs, hitting the door with his closed fist two times
Like I didn't try that .
" Cmon " i murmur
Suddenly the door yanks open revealing the tall frame of my brother , rubbing his left eye clearly seeming like he's just have woken up.
When his eyes fall on me he snaps his eyes open and quickly brings me into his hug , squeezing me to death .
" Mike " I say hitting his forearm " I can't breath idiot " i start laughing at his way of showing how much he missed me
" No no it is never enough " he says chuckling
" Now I'm feeling kinda left out " I hear Jacob's voice more closely now
And with one movement I feel my back covered by a body . Jacob's body .
" You're coming in the hug too " Mike says
I snap my eyes open as I feel the tight muscles of his chest on my back and his breathing fanning on the right side of my neck .
His hands go straight to my waist to balance himself , and I immediately feel my stomach drop.
I quickly get myself out of there braking the hug and fixing my hair.
" Well that was way out of your league, you must have missed me so much " i throw Mike a grin
" Yeah I've missed you little one " he says hooking his arm on my shoulders , bringing me inside the house
I hear the door behind me close and I immediately travel my eyes at the house , it being same as I remember it .
Warmth and happiness spread through my body because of the familiar space , but it immediately turns cold when I don't see my parents.
" Where is mum and dad ?" I furrow my brows " Dad is always awake at such time "
Mike takes a moment of silence.
" Um business meeting, they had to leave early yesterday " he shrugs letting me go
" But they knew I was coming " i state
" They said they're sorry but they couldn't cancel it " he says bringing out the juice box out of the fridge
" Well we will have fun without them then " I turn my eyes to Jacob, him now sitting on our counter " be sure about that " he says nodding his head at me
" You're staying here tonight bro ?" Mike asks him
" Yeah I guess I kinda don't wanna go home right now "
" Why ?" the word slips out of my mouth before I could even think of it .
Both of their head turn on me , that making me tense .
