For me life has been... rough to say the least. I was told I was quirkless at the age of 4 and that same night I lost the only family I had.
At the doctors, 10 years ago:
"I am sorry to say Mrs Midoriya, but Izuku here is Quirkless. He will never develop a quirk." The doctor said to my Mom but I had zoned out the rest after that one word, Quirkless.
In this world 80% of the population has a special form of power called a quirk. The other 20% is known as quirkless. They are thought as useless by many, but there is nobody who thinks this more than my best friend, Katsuki Bakugo. His quirk appeared a few weeks ago as an explosion quirk. Since then he has become really mean and has started bullying a lot of us who haven't got quirks yet or have what he calls "shitty" quirks. They are quirks that look to be no good for hero work.
After the doctor had finished explaining to mom why I would never have a quirk, we said our goodbyes. I never spoke a word the whole time after. Mom did her best to cheer me up but as much as she tried, she couldn't break the shell of sadness I was surrounded in. I didn't show it but her even being with me was already cheering me up.
Later that night
We had went home and had dinner for the day. I was now up in my room getting ready for bed when I started hearing loud crashes and sparks from the living room. I was curious so I quickly finished putting my pj's on and peaked out the door. What I saw scared me and I couldn't move. There was something circling mom. She was screaming out of fear. It was like a tornado of lightning surrounding her.
Mom saw me peaking out the door which I hadn't noticed opened fully. "RUN IZUKU. RUN PLEASE." After he said that the lightning surrounded her and a man appeared. I couldn't see his face, it was like he was a blur and it looked like he had a mask on. He was wearing a yellow suit with a red lighting bolt on the chest. He looked at me and moved at what I could only describe as super speed. That was a powerful quirk to have. He started coming towards me.
I closed my eyes and prepared for him to grab me or hit me... but it never came. I opened my eyes and realised I was no longer in my house, I was 10 blocks away. I started running back to my house, worried for mom. When finally I got back to my home I saw the police and Eraserhead setting up a crime scene. I tried to run in to the house but Eraserhead caught me and told me I should stay here.
Eraserhead: "What is your name kid?" He asked. He was confused why I tried to go into the house
Izuku: "I-Izuku Midor-iya sir."
Eraserhead: "Midori-" he heard that name and realised who I was almost instantly. "Oh no. Kid where do you live?" He had to be sure.
Izuku: "Here s-sir. Sir w-where is my mom?" I asked worried at what had happened to her.
Eraserhead: "I am sorry kid." I didn't understand. "She's gone." Those words... words I never wanted to hear.
I tried to run into the house again but before I made it up the stairs of the porch I saw them bring out a body bag and I collapsed to my knees.
Eraserhead: "I know its a bad time to ask but how did you end up out here at this time of night? At this time a kid of your age should be in bed." I was just as confused as him.
Izuku: "I don't know. The man in the yellow suit was coming towards me so I closed my eyes. I was scared but when I opened my eyes I was over there." I couldn't take my eyes off the body bag. I knew who was in it but I didn't want to believe it.
Time skip 9 years later
It has been 9 years since that day. In these 9 years I stayed with my moms friend Mika Jiro. I lived with her, her husband Kyotoku and their daughter Kyouka Jiro. They took me in after everything. The Jiro's were the only people that comforted me after everything since nobody else wanted to be seen with the quirkless boy. Kyouka never cared about that though. She saw what I was going through and offered me a shoulder to cry on every time I needed it.
