The low sound of soles hitting the pavement echo against the alleyway. Her heart beats rapidly in her chest as she looks around.
"Hello?"
Her voice reverberates off the walls, confusing her. There should be no echo. The walls are brick and the air feels dense.
A shadow comes into view, stalking her down the alley. She takes steps backward as the figure takes his hood off. Her eyes widen and she draws in a breath. Her back hits a body and she quickly turns to it.
At the sight of Taehyung, she screams.
Genesis startles herself out of her sleep and sits up in a panic. The door is opened and her head whips to it. She scrambles to get out of the bed, grabbing the lamp from the nightstand on her way.
Yoongi and Jungkook stand in the doorway, looking around before putting eyes on her. She's in the same clothes from the night before. She still smells of alcohol and that awful cologne from the bar.
"Good morning, Genesis."
The man she's never met speaks and she looks him up and down. He doesn't look like he poses much of a threat to anyone but she knows better than to think that. This coven is very well known and to her assumed misfortune, she's Mated to one of the men in it.
Genesis looks at the dark haired male she met a few nights ago and she gulps.
"You tried to kill me."
Jungkook blinks at her before furrowing his eyebrows. "I think that you're mistaken. I know that you are, actually. I can assure you that it wasn't me."
"You're lying. I know what I saw."
"You were drugged. I highly doubt that."
Her face twists in confusion. "What? No, I was-. I was out drinking with my friends-."
"You're 24." Yoongi states.
"-and Chelle had to go to the bathroom and I went with her. She said she was going to get Bri and... and then..." Genesis tries to remember, unable to pull a single memory.
"You don't remember because you were drugged and you blacked out." Jungkook says.
"You don't know that." She argues.
"I do. If you hadn't, I'd be able to see it. I can't."
"Then get out of my head." Genesis glares at him.
"I think we need to have a chat." Yoongi says as he intertwines his fingers in front of him.
"We don't. My crest matches his. Chat over. Can I go home?"
"No. For one, if you're aware of the crest, then you know how this works to some degree. And two." Yoongi lifts his shirt up and shows her the crest on his right pec. "The crest does nothing but tie you to this Coven. It doesn't specify who you're Marked for."
