Korra grits her teeth. Huffing as she aggressively scribbles against the paper. She grunts crumbling the paper and throwing it into the large growing pile.
"Well that's almost a mountain." She looked up to see Jinora at the door, eyeing the pile. "I can't come up with one. At all. Nothing sticks." She huffs. Jinora hums walking in and bending down, taking a paper ball and unraveling it. "It's a good start." She comments. "Yeah so were the rest. It's been months and Varrick has been on my ass."
Jinora puts the paper down and walks over to Korra. Looking over her distressed form. "This block is really stressing you out huh?" Korra snorts. "They just don't stick. I get it all ready but it just doesnt flow. It doesnt feel right." She huffs gesturing to the papers. "Why don't you use your stress reliever Mako?" That earned a pencil to the face. "Ouch." "Shut up. He's not my stress reliever Jinora." Korra defends.
Jinora laughs rubbing her forehead. "How come when your stressed you say I'll he back and that's to Mako's house and then afterwards you don't seem so stressed anymore. Plus you act as if the two of you aren't so obvious." She says smugly. Oh how she loathed how observant Jinora was.
And nosy.
She felt the embarrassment bubble up on her body. "I hate how your so nosy Jinora." She shifts in her chair. "He has someone clearly changing his mind. Hes been.. distant lately." Jinora sighs at Korra's forlorn look. Clearly defensive about the topic for a reason. "Want to talk about it?" She asked. Korra exhaled deeply, looking up at the ceiling. "It started about two months ago....

It was a day he was coming back from work. Most times he was stressed and always called Korra after work. Eventually it became such a routine he just gave her a key. So she was there at her usual time. Sitting on his bed on her phone. Texting Varrick. She definitely needed this stress reliever too.
Varrick had been up her ass and around the corner. She hasn't produced a new hit song in months and he was plummeting in that department. Wasn't her fault nothing inspired her. She just lost her spark.
She heard the front door open and close, floorboard creaking towards the door. He walks inside and usually he throws off his jacket, takes off his clothes and they take a shower or bath. He rants about work and she rants about Varrick. And most cases they'd have sex. The usual.
However he didn't even take off his coat. He looked dazed. His face slightly flustered. She noticed a scrape on his arm and a part of his coat was shredded with dirt streaks. She stands up quickly wondering if he had fallen.
"Hey what happened?" She asked getting up and inspecting. Mako flinched a bit which was very unusual. She pulls her hand away from him. "Oh um yeah I'm fine. I fell. Anyways what are you doing here?" This made her blink.
"Uh what I usually do for the past three months?" She says confused. He itches the side of his head. Averting her eyes. "Oh right yes well." He clears his throat walking past her.
"Is everything okay?" He nods facing her. "Yeah I just, I'm actually busy tonight. Last minute." She observes him for a bit. Letting it sink. They weren't official by any means but they didnt see other people. They knew of each others feelings but didn't progress to make it offical, just letting it run its course. It left a nasty feeling in her gut that he might have met someone else.
"Oh, well then I should get going huh?" He nods and walks her out. With a awkward wave he closed the door, starting this drift between.
After that day they didn't talk as often, barely hung out. Always made excuses as to why he couldn't do anything. It seemed one sided, she was putting more effort than he was.
