Harin woke up with her body screaming in pain.
Every muscle ached, her bones felt as though they'd been shattered and hastily glued back together, and even the idea of moving made her wince. She blinked slowly, her vision blurry, her mind trying to process the foggy aftermath of... whatever had happened.
A slight movement nearby jolted her from her daze, and she turned her head gingerly, her vision clearing to reveal the sleeping pureblood beside her.
"Riri," came a tired voice from behind her.
Harin shifted with great effort to glance over her shoulder, finding Jaemin sitting up, his usually perfect hair a messy halo around his face.
"Are you okay?" the omega asked, his voice gentle but tinged with concern.
Harin managed a small smile despite her discomfort and nodded. "You?"
"I feel like shit," Jaemin admitted, chuckling weakly.
Harin laughed softly, the sound breaking off into a groan as her ribs protested. She winced as she tried to shift into a more comfortable position, but froze when she felt the unmistakable pressure of the pureblood still inside her. A low, unbidden moan escaped her lips as she carefully moved away, her face heating.
"Do you need a hand?" Jaemin offered, his expression amused but kind.
"No, Nana, I just..." Harin trailed off, forcing herself to sit up despite the pain.
Jaemin's lips curved into a small, reassuring smile.
"I'm okay," she said softly, before her voice turned apologetic. "Nana, we shouldn't have..."
Jaemin raised a hand, cutting her off. "It's okay. I offered, remember? You and Jeno needed help—you couldn't handle it alone."
"I just hate depending on others during our cycles," Harin admitted, her tone bitter with frustration.
Jaemin's smile turned knowing, his eyes glinting mischievously. "Oh, I get it now. You and Jeno."
Harin's cheeks flushed. "I'm sorry, Nana."
"Don't be," Jaemin said breezily. "Thinking back, you two were so obvious. I was just too blinded by my own feelings to notice. I should've known better—I made it awkward for all of us. But hey, we're friends, right?"
Harin nodded, her expression softening. "Still, I should've told you."
Jaemin waved her apology away, a twinkle of humor returning to his eyes. "How are you feeling now?"
"Better. You?"
Jaemin leaned back against the headboard, a playful smirk forming. "Oh, you know. Just another day as a BJ."
Their laughter filled the room, breaking the tension, but it was cut short by a deep, raspy groan from the other side of the bed.
An arm snaked around Harin's waist, pulling her close as Jeno's voice, thick with sleep, rumbled in her ear. "Morning."
Jaemin shivered at the sound, while Harin felt her cheeks warm as Jeno's grip tightened.
