𝐀𝐅𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐇𝐀𝐓 𝐍𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓, 𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐈 felt like all of her walls came crumbling down on her. she felt like her world was just slowly caving in and she was trapped. trapped in a world of disappointment and tragedy. it was that night that sent her home crying, wondering what she did wrong. was she not pretty enough? gina was. was she not smart enough? gina was. everything she wasn't, gina was. maybe that's why he chose her, she thought to herself. she was never enough for him.

she had slammed her front door behind her, running upstairs to her bedroom, passing by her parents and sisters rooms, probably waking them up in the midst of it but she didn't care. the only thing she cared for right now, was being alone. physically and mentally. "i fucking hate him!" she screamed to herself internally, though we all know nini salazar roberts could never hate ricky bowen, that doesn't mean she wouldn't try to convince herself that she did.

𝐄𝐌𝐌𝐀 basically knew her sister like the back of her hand, so it was easy to tell when she was mad or upset. but this, this was a whole new level of upset; it was like sadness, mixed in with anger, a slice of disappointment or disbelief, finished with a hint of embarrassment. now emma wasn't any heartbreak expert, but she knew that this had to be it.

so, being the considerate sister she was, decided to set her alarm for 8am, on a saturday, to get up and make nini breakfast; she probably wouldn't want to leave her room for the next couple days.

𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐈 had just woken up, and she was already tired enough to fall back asleep and drift off into her imaginary world. a world where it wasn't so miserable and gloomy. but just as she was about to do so, she heard her bedroom door creak open, and a familiar brown haired girl poked her head through. "hi neens." the voice whispered, taking note of her sisters sleepy state. "i made you breakfast, but, you have to get out of bed and get yourself ready before you can eat."

the brunette girl was bewildered by emma's sudden urge to make her breakfast but before she could question it, the girl had already made a run for the staircase. getting ready it is then, she thought to herself.

𝐄𝐌𝐌𝐀 was downstairs at the kitchen island, scrolling through instagram as passtime, waiting for nini to come down to join her. she was about to shut her phone off when she came across a familiar user on her feed.

𝐄𝐌𝐌𝐀 was shocked; she didn't know what to say. yeah, she assumed her sister went through a heartbreaking situation, but she thought that was like an argument with her best friend or something. never in a million years would she have guessed this.

before emma could do anything, she heard the longing footsteps coming from the staircase, as she looked over to find her sister with a faux smile plastered on her face, clearly trying to convince herself of her emotions. don't cry over a stupid boy, nini thought to herself.

𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐈 knew her sister better than she even knew herself, and she could tell by the look on emma's face that she knew something she didn't. "hey em, what's up?" she put a hand over the small of her back, rubbing it softly, as she took a seat at the stool next to emma.

emma didn't want to be the bearer of bad news, but nini couldn't be left in the dark with this. she knew she would have to find out her one day or another, so why not now. the brunette girl was shaking as she held her phone up to show nini what had her so shaken up.

"oh." nini gulped.
