Walking down the hallway, I see people talking to each other as they leaned against the lockers or stood near them. Talking about the latest trends, or the video that has now the most likes, or who did what on the weekend. I keep my head down as they start making the way to class as the bell has just rung. I swiftly made my way to my first class, sport. I hate sport with a burning passion, and it hates me with the same amount of hate. I swiftly made my way into the change room and changed into my sports cloths. Exiting the change room, I make my way towards my class.
My class is mostly filled with people who love sport or are just naturally good at it. The ones that don't love sport are most of the girls. They just sit around and talk to their friends, talking about what every popular girls talk about. I just sit on the sideline and watch everyone do their thing, not doing anything myself. The others in my class joke at me or make fun of me for not doing sport at all. I wish I could do sport but my legs will not able me to. I have a diseases that has not been seen before. My legs are so thin that I am just able to walk with leg braces on.
I sighed as a group of boys came up to me. I watched them walk to me, all five having bibs on ready to play basketball. I watched as the boy at the front throws a bib at me. I fumble to catch the bib as it came at me. I questionably looked at the bib then back at the boys. I saw, in the corner of my vision, the girls snicker at me. I watched as the boys sigh in frustration.
"Come on!" a boy at the back of the group says as he walks of. "You guys are dealings with this."
I watch the boys shake their heads at their friend.
"You are joining our team because we are one player short, and the girls won't do it," the leader says as he shifts the basketball in his hands.
"I-I-I-I can't," I stuttered out as another boy groaned at my response.
"Oh come on, you're not injured, so let's go. We can tell you the rules if you need to know," another boy says as he moves forwards towards me. I tied to speak as he pulled my up to my feet. I swayed a bit but soon quickly go my balance. By then, I was started to be dragged down the court. One of the other boys swiftly took the bib out of my hands and placed it over my head. My mind when blank as I started to feel pain shoot down my legs. I bit my lip to suppress the grunt of pain.
I was quickly placed onto the court as a loud whistle was blown. I flinched at the sudden noise as the ball was quickly passed down the court. The whistle was soon blown again, a basket was scored. I turned to quickly see the ball heading towards me. I fumbled to catch the ball as came to me. soon my hands were securely around the ball. I sighed in relief, but my relief is short lived as a boy stood in front of me.
He held his arms out to defend me as I froze. He moved closer to me as I shakily take a step back. He keeps moving forwards as I move backwards. The whistle was suddenly blown as a body was pushed against mine. I froze as I felt the little balance I had moved out of me. I fell onto the ground as a snap was heard. I shouted out in pain as my I felt my leg bones nap as I felt the ground under me. I pulled up my legs as I felt tears prick my eyes. I could hear people shouting but no words reached my ears as pain consumed my senses. The pain grew as I felt myself lose conscious.
I woke up in the all too familiar hospital room. I sighed as I saw doctors move in and out of the room, some asking if I was feeling okay or something like that. I slowly sighed as I closed my eyes and thought, I am not going to be able to do anything by myself am I?
