chapter 3: to the skys

SCORCH POV

after setting fire to the cave a flew off after the skywings. it was easy for me because the size of my wings. they were flying in a formation with queen scarlet in the middle and the other dragonets just behind her. i noticed one of the guards was farther behind than the others. 'must be a rear guard' i thought.

i flew above the guard the best i could without being noticed. i then dived down towards him full speed. by the time he knew i was there my jaws were biting down into his neck killing him. i let go and let the body fall, then flew up above the clouds.

SCARLET POV

to day is such a great day. i caught the dragonets of destiny that were living underneath my mountain. and kestrel. all before my hatching day, how exciting. "your majesty, someone seams to set fire to the cave" a guard said. "hmmmm, kestrel do you happen to know who did this"

she tried to say something but her snout saw chained shut because of her foul language. one of the guards took off the chains. "why would i tell you". "because maybe i'll kill one of these precious dragonets dragonets of destiny". then kestrel looked up and smiled "why don't you ask him yourself". then it it me, more like something hit me. after a flash of red i was falling from the sky with all of the guards following after me. 

SCORCH POV

i landed on the ground in front of scarlet. "who might you be, mystery dragon" she asked. "why should i tell you".the other guards landed with the other dragonets. "i suggest you come quietly or your friends won't be able to stop this war". i sighed in defeat and let them chain me up and bring me to the castle.

when we landed we were met with a dragon who had a weird orange color scales. everyone seemed to avoid her like she had some sort of disease. "you three" the queen pointed at a group of guards. "take this one to burns room while i figure out what to do with him, and make sure you lock him up as much as possible" she instructed. the guards led me to a room with lots of cages all over the place and a large bed in the middle. they put me in a cage and chained me down as much as possible.

A WHILE LATER

after a while queen scarlet and two other dragons entered the room. the other dragons being the one with weird orange scales and a dragon with no wings. "hello, what was your name again, ah yes scorch. vulture is going to be running some tests on you" the queen said. the dragon with no wings now named vulture unlocked the cage door a took a rope with knots on it ever so often and began measuring me. the queen and the other dragon just watched.

"now i'm going to take the chains off of your wings so i can measure them" vulture said. he took a key and tried putting it in the key hole but it didn't work. so he tried another, and another, and another. until. "peril help him please" the queen said. the now named peril started walking towards the cage but i was getting tired of this. so i simple stretched out my wing breaking the 3 chains retraining it.

the three dragon were surprised about what i did. "that works to i guess" vulture said as he started to measure my wings. he then unchained my snout. he measured stuff on my head and wrote it down then rechained my wings and was about to chain up my snout again but the queen stopped him and he left.

"so how to i get out of here with my friends" i asked. "you'll have to survive three fight in the arena then defeat my champion, and then you can go home free" she explained. "but what else can you do mystery dragon". "wouldn't you rather find out in your arena, i'll fight three dragons of your choice all at once, except for my friends".

she thought for a moment "ok, but then after that you'll fight my champion" and the her and the other dragon left.

CLAY POV NEXT DAY (btw tsunami has not fought gill yet)

"FELLOW DRAGON, LOYAL SKYWINGS, VISITING MUDWINGS, HONORED SANDWING GUESTS! WE HAVE A FULL SLATE OF THRILLING GAMES TODAY" a skywing announced. "but first. let me introduce our honored guest. queen burn of the sandwings" scarlet said. after our escape attempt last night we were put back on the giant pillars. "NORMALLY ENEMIES, WE HAVE ICEBERG OF THE ICEWINGS, TIDAL OF THE SEAWINGS, AND FALCON OF THE SKYWINGS WHO IS BEING PUNISHED FOR BEING A TALONS OF PEACE SPY".

the crowd began boing at falcon and a few dragons throwing things. "BUT INSTEAD OF FIGHTING EACH OTHER THEY WILL HAVE TO WORK TOGETHER TO FIGHT THEIR OPPONENT" on the other side of the arena cage bars opened to a long hallway, inside i could hear the very familiar clicks of talons steps that only one dragon i knew could make. tsunami and starflight look at me then towards the entrance. "I GIVE YOU THE MYSTERY DRAGON SCORCH"

SCORCH POV

i walked out into the arena and the crowd stopped cheering. "CLAWS UP, TEETH READY, FIGHT". i charged straight towards the seawing who was also running at me. i ended up trampling him like it was nothing. the crowd started cheering again. the seawing tried getting up but i was to heavy. i put one of my talons on his head and snapped his neck.

i looked over to see the skywing reeling his head back and fire building up in the back of his throat. he started breath fire at me covering most of my body making it hard for them to see me. when he was done i stepped out of the flames completely unscaved. i then ran at him and slashed him across the face with my talon. i walked over the skywing towards the icewing as he was trying to get up. i then stomped on his head with my back talon caving in his skull making a sickening crack.

the icewing opened his mouth to breath some ice breath at me but i shot fire into his mouth just before he fired. the fire started burning from the inside out. not long after he was dead and the crowd erupted in even more cheers. i looked at clay, tsunami, and starflight. they had looks of worry and fear on their faces 'i'll get us out of here' i thought before walking back into the tunnel. 

a lot of guards escorted me back to burns room and put all of the chains back on me except for the chains that go on my mouth. "i must say. i'm impressed by your fight". i looked over to see a massive sandwing walk out of the shadows of a corner in the room. "hello burn".

"it's queen burn to you" she stated. i rolled my eyes. "well that's all i wanted to say, let's see how well y do on your next fight". she then left the room.
