My name is Tilikum. I am a 34 year old bull orca (killer whale) who is currently living at Sea World. You might of heard of me as the orca who killed Dawn Brancheau in 2010. You might be suprised to hear that I am not bad or evil or any of that stuff people say. This is my story. Let's start at the beginning.
I was once free and happy. I was born of the coast of Iceland. I lived with my pod and there were a lot of us we traveled a hundred miles every day and hunted together. I remember playing with other young orcas my age. When I was a calf my mother would take care of me and protect me. I never finished learning how to hunt or protect my pod because I was taken away from my home, my family, my pod, and everything I ever knew when I was only two years old.
