A/N: HI!!! Welcome to The Lovers on The Mountains. This story is also found on AO3 under the username, The QuietLoser.

Based on my fanfic story: The Lovers on the Mountain [TXT, TAEGYU]
Names have changed, plot and story are still the same.

If you'd like to read the fanfiction, it is on this account  TheQuietLoser13 AND on AO3 under the username TheQuietLoser

I'll reveal what inspired it once the story comes to an end but yeah, I really still hope you like it.

I am going to say that I do own the characters of this story and that this story is entirely my idea so if there's a book that happens to have this same idea, it's entirely coincidental.

If you prefer to not read it as fanfiction, it is ALSO AVAILABLE AS AN ORIGINAL STORY on this account

There are no heavy topics that will be discussed in this story of volcanos and two homeless kids. It's solely about the friendship between Lucas and Emilio.

I think it is important to mention that Emilio is 13 years old, 3 years older than Lucas's character. This is for the story to flow better, you'll understand when you read it.

Alright, I think that's all I had to say. I hope you enjoy the first chapter!!!

All fates are determined on the day the universe was created.

The stories written by those who tell them are made to be remembered. From them, others can retell where their fate took them. None of us know our destiny so we spend our lifetimes trying to find it. Along the way, we meet people that change and influence us. And even if they were there for a short period, it's the result that matters.

Perhaps the journey to finding our destiny is only important because it's the only story we will ever write for others to tell. When the ending of our stories finally arrives, we hope to be blessed with a happy finale.

But that's not in our world's character.

Mankind spends their lives pleasing, obeying, and worshiping the universe, hoping it sees them as worthy of a happy ending. It's in those darkest moments that the universe ignores them, and people realize how cruel the heavens are.

There are stories unlucky to not have been printed on paper and ink. Soon, these people were forgotten by the rest of the world. A city like Pompei is lucky to have been found by explorers. They wrote the story of the lost city.

Since then, adaptations of books and films have been created to remember the city that once was. It's a legend never to be forgotten, just like the legend of the lovers on the mountains.

There was a time when all mankind did was write stories. They wrote to explain, entertain, and honor their existence. The funny thing is, times haven't changed and there are many retold stories about the hypocrisy of the creator we call, "the universe."

The Aztecs tell the story of a young princess who fell in love with one of her father's warriors. The King sent the warrior to fight in battle, promising his daughter as his wife when he returned. One day, the princess was falsely told her love was murdered in battle. Believing the news, she grieved and tragically died soon after. When the warrior returned to find the love of his life dead, he took her body to a deserted spot outside their town.

We were told love is the most powerful thing in the universe, more powerful than destiny itself. It is what drives our fate, the pen to our paper. So why, if these two lovers loved each other more than life, why was the universe so cruel in deciding their destiny like this?
