The Stubborn Brat

Ch- 1 // ᴡᴏɴᴅᴇʀꜰᴜʟ ɴᴇᴡꜱ

It was a cold, misty and peaceful winter night. Everyone was asleep.

"Amis, darling, wake up! wake up! We've got wonderful news." Says an old lady while smiling widely holding a letter.

"What is it at 3 AM, moth-" Before Amis could finish her sentence, her mother proceeds to give her the tightest hug. Amis is puzzled.

"I'm so proud of you, honey." Says Amis' mother, wiping her teary eyes.

"Is everything okay, mother? What's going on?" Amis says in confusion. 

"You won't believe it!" says Amis' mother while excitedly opening the letter.


She puts the letter in Amis' hands while Amis stares in silence.


Amis instantly starts reading the letter with excitement expecting something wonderful, only to be disappointed. 

"Wow, Invitation to join Eudaemonia's best modelling agency!" Amis says in a scornful voice.

"Amis! be grateful." Says Amis' mother while frowning.

"All right, I'm sorry. It's great, but I'm not interested." Says Amis. 

She pulls her quilt up, getting ready to sleep again. Just then-

"Wait, we have one more" Says Amis' mother.

Amis pulls down her quilt with an annoyed expression on her face.

"I'm sure you'll be interested in this" Amis' mother says while sighing, handing over another special looking letter to Amis. 

"ARGHHH!" Amis says, snatching the letter from her mother's hand. When she opens the letter, her face lights up with joy at the speed of light.

Her mother stands there staring.

"I- I MUST BE DREAMING! THERE'S NO WAY" Says Amis squealing her lungs out.

After a few minutes, a beautiful young lady walks into the bedroom aggressively with an exhausted expression.

"Can you all please keep it down for Pete's sake! I'm trying to sleep here. Hello?"

"Oh, I'm sorry very, Mae! Your sister Amis not only got invited to join Eudaemonia's best modelling agency, but rather got accepted into one of the best schools of there as well! How could we not lose it?" Amis' mother says while flapping her hands out of excitement. 

Amis' sister Mae's eyes widen

"WHAT?" Says Mae while rushing over to hug Amis

"I knew you could do it, sis." 

...

"sis?"

Mae and Amis' mom turn their heads towards the bed to find Amis sleeping.
They quietly look at each other for a moment.

"We should just let her be. After all, she has an enormous distance to journey tomorrow."
