Selena Gomez Biography (Eng version)

Selena Marie Gomez was born in Grand Prairie, Texas on July 22, 1992. Her father is called Ricardo Joel Gomez and is Mexican, while her mother, Mandy Dawn Cornett, who was adopted, and who appears to be of Italian descent.
At the age of 5 his parents divorced and in 2006 his mother remarried Brian Teefey. From their marriage was born in 2013 Gracie Elliot Teefey, half-sister of Selena. Also on the paternal side Selena has another half-sister, Victoria Gomez, born in 2014 from her father's second marriage.

The name Selena was chosen by her father in honor of the Latin American singer Selena Quintanilla.

Selena had a great success in the world of music and cinema from a very young age, thus becoming today one of the best known and most followed singers and actresses in the world. Her first showbiz role was when she was only 7, on the children's series Barney & Friends.
In the following years they offer her the starring role in the series The Wizards of Waverly Place, where she plays Alex Russo, and this is where Selena will have a great success. Other popular movies and series featuring Selena are:

Following the breakup of The Scene, which took place in 2012, Selena started her own career by releasing the albums Stars Dance (2013), Revival (2015), Rare (2020) and in 2021 she released an EP, Revelación.

In 2015 Selena claimed to be suffering from a rare disease, Lupus. After two years with a post on instagram she revealed to her followers that she had undergone a kidney transplant. Her best friend Francia Raisa donated the organ.
