The Party

It was holidays, winter has just come and the nights were getting colder. The smell of rain was everywhere.
"Sarah" was about to turn 20 years old, she was planning for her birthday party for so long. Wanted to make it the greatest night ever. It wasn't that big party, she just invited some close friends but made sure to make it fun.
"Hama" and his girlfriend "Yasmine" were invited. They were going through a hard period and thought maybe this party will fix things.
Also "Nour" was invited, sarah's best friend. She wasn't so in for some reasons but she couldn't let her best friend down.
"Fedi" spent the whole month remiding everyone of sarah's birthday. He was so excited for that night.
And "Sam" as they call him, yasmine's twin, he's so much more than a friend. He's been there in everyone's darkest moments. They couldn't make a party without him throwing his silly jokes and dancing like an idiot.

It was the day. 9pm, friends were starting to come over. "Fedi" was the first one coming there as it was expected. He brought a big heavy box as a gift. They were both sitting on the couch waiting for the others to come.
-"what about some music ?" he said.
-"...okay"
(Beach house-space song)
-"*laughs* you know it's my favourite song right?" She said.
-"*smiles*"
He was watching her daydreaming with that beautiful music in the background. In a moment, she looked like a beautiful painting.
-"sarah.."
-"*looks at him"*
-"..."
-"what ? *laughs*" She said while laughing.
-"i don't know.. you look beautiful today..i mean.. you're beautiful everyday but..you look prettier today..*laughs*"
-"*laughs* thanks fedi ! But you already told me that ! twice !.."
-"woah! Did i ?"
-"are you kidding me ?"
-"what ? No ! Why ?"
-" you're just acting weird today.."
-"*laughs* i'm always weird.."
-"true..*laughs*"
-"sarah.."
-"fedi.."
-"*looks at her* isn't it obvious !?" He screamed.
-"what !?"
-"nevermind.. let us just have fun today.."
The doorbell rang, and she was nour with a poker face standing with a gift in front of the door.
-"happy birthday honey.." she said without any expressions on her face.

21h30min.
Fedi, Nour and Sarah..they were getting bored. They were still waiting for sami, yasmine and mohamed. None of them answered the hundreds of calls and texts they were recieving.
Sarah and Fedi started to worry about them while nour was lying on the couch with her headphones on. Fedi did not like the way she was acting. He couldn't stand it and shouted angrily:
-"can you just tell me what the hell is wrong with you ?"
-"..." she did not move or speak, she just kept starring at him.
-"don't look at me like that ! Today is your bestfriend's birthday can you just do me a favour and show us a smile ! It will probably be better than acting like you're not one of us !"
-" Fedi.. relax.." Sarah interrupted him. She was getting nervous, too much pressure on her. Her friends were not answering the phone, a fight was about to start and a party that might be canceled.
Then suddenly her phone started ringing, it was yasmine ! Picked up screaming:
-"Yasmine ! Are you okay ? Is there anything wrong ?!"
-"Sarah chill ! What ? I'm fine !"
-"i called you million times Yasmine! Where the hell are you ? Where's Hama ? And your brother ?"
-"i dont know about Hama, but sam is on the way right now, he's coming to you.."
-"what about you ?"
-"..that's why i called.. i'm sorry Sarah..i can't be there.."
-"..."
-"i'm so sorry ! I know ! I know how much you've been preparing for this..but..i..Hama and i just broke up 5 minutes ago.."
-"what !"
-"that's it..i just wanna be alone..i'm sorry"
-"you don't have to be sorry Yasmine! Everything will be fine i promise..don't overthink.."
-"Sarah...listen! You don't have to say anything.. enjoy your day..like you're supposed to... see you"
Sarah was in a massive confusion, she started crying without explaining anything to Fedi or Nour.
-"what did she tell you ? Why are you crying Sarah ?" Fedi was expecting the break up between his 2 friends but he never thought that it'll be on Sarah's birthday.
-"...*crying*" she couldn't say any word. Sat down on her knees and kept crying.
-"they..they broke up..right ?" Fedi couldn't hold his tears back, but it wasn't the perfect timing to start crying together and turn the party into a funeral.
But suddenly, Nour just jumped out with open eyes, a creepy smile and said:
-"broke up ! Who ?"
-"Yasmine and.."
-"are you..kidding..me?"
Fedi didn't understand Nour's reaction but it was obviously weird.
-"i'm not kidding Nour !"
-"i couldn't make a simple small..fucking party ! I was so selfish ! Everyone knew they were going through shit..and..no one helped ! All i was thinking about was..this party *crying*"
Sarah started blaming her self thinking she was not a good friend until Nour interrupted her saying:
-"no honey..please don't cry..you have nothing to do about their fights and problems..come on ! This night is still gonna be the best night ever ! *smiling*"
