The Start of My Perfect Life

I was walking with my best friend Meg (or as I started calling her later on on that trip, Nut Meg) to the bus that would take us to Astrocamp. It was my first time going there, but I had been to CIMI twice already. It was the day I was first noticed by Luke. We had been playing a game where we had to get from one platform to the other and back, but take ten people with us there. Luke had gone first, and I was going soon. Meg was already on the platform, and I was griping the rope, ready to swing. Little did I know that those next few moments would change the course my life from boring to the road leading to perfectville. I was scared, but I jumped and somehow made it to the platform. Luke grabbed me into an awkward sort of hug, pulling me in tight, and he helped me off the rope where we both threw it to the next person. When I glanced back at Luke, I saw that he was looking at me with curious eyes. He quickly glanced away when he saw I noticed. Later on, I told Meg later on, and she told me to let time pass and see what happens. I rolled my eyes at that response.

The next day we had the vine walk. Luke had gone 2nd, and I was going last. Meg went first. Luke had the fastest time, and Meg was the fastest girl. For my vine walk, Luke and Meg were controlling the rope as well as our instructor Trish. I was terrified, and could see the rope shaking below me. At one point, I started falling and I screamed. Trish couldn't control my fall fully, so I was nearly dropped to the ground. When I had nearly fallen when climbing, I saw Luke looking worried. Meg laughed at me, but now she was pulling with all her might to slow my fall. I saw Luke drop the bucket of rope and sprint the few feet towards me, and caught me miraculously. Everybody was shocked, Luke, Trish, Meg, and myself included. Luke waited for me to catch my breath before putting me down on the ground. Meg was quietly giggling, and I blushed. I tried to hide it, but I'm not sure if Luke saw or not.

Later that day, Meg and our roommates were in our dorm room.

"Caity, what was going on with Luke earlier?" One of my dorm mates, Lana asked. Lana was my friend, but we weren't too close.

"N-nothing. Why?" I replied blushing very faintly. Meg sadly noticed this.

"Your pinking C" she told me and I hit her arm playfully.

"Because it looked like something was going on between you two..." another of my dorm mates Lisa, my ex-friend, said, and Meg, Lana, and Janet(the last roommate) laughed as I glared at Lisa.

"Oh shut up Lisa" I said and grabbed my backpack, ready to go find my guy friend "Grace" as I called him.

"Caity, where are you going?" Meg asked while picking up her phone and joining me at the door.

"To go find Grace" I said and Meg followed me out the door.

"Grace? Oh never mind. I call him Mason" Meg said and I laughed at her. We walked down the stairs to the "neutral" area of the dorms and found Grace waiting for us.

"Mason" "Grace" Meg and I said at the same time, and he looked up at us.

"Hey Caity. Hey Meg" he said and smiled at Meg, making her lightly blush.

"Your pinking M" I said, mimicking what she said to me earlier. She glared and hit me similarly to how I hit her.

"What?" Grace asked and Meg and I had busted up laughing. Once calm, we sat in the neutral area and played cards(I had brought apples to apples). After about ten minutes, I was winning and it was my turn to be the judge. As I picked up the card, Luke walked up the stairs.

"Hey guys. Can I join?" Luke asked and I nodded while picking out seven red cards. He sat between Meg and I. Meg smirked at us and I stuck my tongue out at her, making her laugh. The guys glanced at each other, sharing the same look of confusion. I handed him the cards, our fingertips brushing. I bit my lip not to blush at this, and picked up the green card I was to judge for.
