"When I was a child I heard voices, some would sing, and some would scream"
-September 1st, 1974, Malfoy Manor-
9:45 a.m.
"Anastasia, wake up" I hear a loud voice interrupting my sleep and open my eyes to catch a glimpse of platinum blonde hair from across the room. I fully open my eyes and sit up in bed, my vision clears, revealing Lucius, my best friend at the foot of my bed.
"Jesus fuck what did I tell you about privacy??" I say angrily pulling the covers up to cover my body. " Thats not important right now, we're going to be late if you don't get up and get ready soon." He says, completely disregarding my question. "What time is it?" I ask, slowly starting to get nervous as I glance at my unpacked trunk with all my belongings scattered about the room. "You have a clock, look at the time yourself" he says, already heading out the room. I roll my eyes, looking at the wall across from my bed only to see that its 9:45 a.m., which wouldn't really be a problem if I had my shit packed up, but I didn't.
I jump up quickly, instead of getting up slowly resulting in me nearly falling back on the bed as I start feeling lightheaded. Ignoring the feeling, I rush around the room, grabbing all my stuff and stuffing it haphazardly inside my trunk.
After struggling for 10 minutes to get my trunk shut, I rush to the bathroom, washing up as fast as I can. I'm about to rush out the bathroom but I catch a glimpse of my hair in the mirror and gasp in shock as I stare at the messy state its in, I mentally slap myself for forgetting to wear a bonnet to bed and get to work on my hair, the stress making my heart beat dangerously fast. It takes nearly 10 minutes before I manage to put my hair into a decent bun, and I quickly rush out the bathroom, grabbing my trunk on the way out.
I'm running full speed at this point, nearly slipping and breaking my neck multiple times on the way down the polished wood staircase. It's 10:05 a.m. and this wouldn't really be much of a problem if Abraxas was here, but instead he's away on "business" and instead we have to drive all the way to Kings Cross Station.
"You should've gotten ready last night instead of sneaking out again" Says Lucius in a slightly judgmental tone. " Oh fuck off Malfoy" I say in an annoyed tone as I start walking towards the door as he follows closely behind. "Where were you anyways?" he asks as we walk out the door and towards the car Abraxas had the ministry send to pick us up. "Places" I say as we climb into the car and start driving off. I can practically feel him roll his eyes at my response, but instead of replying he decides to leave it alone and we fall into a comfortable silence that remains the entire car ride.
We arrive at Kings Cross Station 10 minutes before 11 and rush to platform nine and three quarters in less than 5 minutes. Lucius practically sprints to the train, trying to find a seat before they all fill up. I follow slowly behind him and start searching for four familiar faces once I board the train. It's not long before I catch a glimpse of brown shaggy hair, the persons face is hidden behind a book, but I immediately recognize who it is. "Hey Remy" I say, walking into the compartment and taking a seat across from him. He's holding a copy of 'The Outsiders' that I got him during the summer holidays, its edges are already worn despite it being only a couple months old. Knowing Remus, he's probably read it over 10 times by now. "Hey" he says quietly clearly preoccupied with the book, not even bothering to move it from his face. I'm just now realizing the absence of the rest of the Marauders, its 10:58, only two minutes left until the train leaves. "Where's everyone else?" I ask Remus. "I don't know, they'll probably be here soon" he says, unbothered, I assume he's still preoccupied with reading and decide to leave him alone. I'm suddenly aware of distant yelling in the background, slowly getting closer every second, even Remus looks away from his book and out the window to see what's going on. I can't help but giggle at the sight I see. James, Sirius, and Peter and running full speed towards the train screaming at the top of their lungs. "Of course, they're late" I mutter. They board the train and suddenly the yelling gets louder as they get closer to our seat. The three boys rush into the train compartment and sit down out of breath.
"Well that was interesting" I say. Its silent for a second before everybody breaks out into laughter as the train pulls away from the station.
