Several months had passed since you were sold at the auction. After being confined to Soryu's suite for some time, you were eventually allowed to return to your dorm where the hotel staff resided; though you still kept close contact with Soryu. As you got to know him, you realized you had started to develop feelings for him. A relationship with a mobster, was that even be possible? You didn't even know how he felt about you, after all not too long ago you were just merely a tool, one bought at a price too high to count.
You hoped one day that just maybe he would return your feelings. But it looked like you would never get the chance when you received a grim message saying 'Leave Soryu immediately or you both will die.' It also stated you were not to tell a soul and if you valued your life you, it was best you left quietly. You were at a loss from the message. Not only was your life in danger but the man you held feelings for. His profession was already a dangerous one, you didn't want to bring in any more uneeded dangers aside from the ones he already faced. There was a reason they didn't want you near him, though you couldn't work it out, and with no one to turn to you had no choice but to leave the hotel.
You immediately informed the hotel manager of your resignation and hoped to leave unnoticed. You packed everything that was necessary, planning to get the rest delivered to you later, and carefully headed to the hotel's entrance.
You were relieved to have not bumped into any familiar faces as you neared the hotel's exit. You had just reached the exit when you heard someone calling out your name, stopping you in your tracks. Frozen in place, you slowly turned around and was met by a frantic Soryu with sweat pouring down his face . It looked he had been running for some time.
You both locked eyes, you had never seen him look so panicked. Soryu immediately rushed up to you, taking in a few deep breaths before speaking, "Why... Why are you doing this?"
You bit your lip before replying, "...I can't say. I'm sorry..." You said, before sadly averting your gaze. "This isn't like you. What has happened that you need to run away?" Soryu pleaded with you, he looked hurt by the fact you had tried to leave without a trace. "Soryu..." You sighed, looking melancholy, "Please, just let me go." Your said in a weak voice as you begged him. Closing your eyes, you took in a deep breath and was about to turn around to leave when you were suddenly thrusted against his chest, "No..." He murmured, wrapping his arms tightly around you, "I won't let you go."
Your eyes widened in surprise, what did he mean? Did Soryu truly feel the same way after all... But that letter... You couldn't stay with him. You just couldn't. You didn't want to put his life in danger, you would never forgive yourself if he got hurt because of you.
"Soryu..." You pushed against his chest, struggling to free yourself but it was futile as he only strengthened his hold on you. "Why are you so desperate to leave? ...Are you...scared of me?" He asked in a shaky voice. You gasped, that was the furthest thing from your mind. Granted, you might have been at one point but not any more, you had come to accept and love him for who he was. "No, that's not it." You shook your head against his chest. "Then why?!" Soryu shouted, desperation filled his voice.
Tears started to trickle down your cheeks as you felt conflicted inside. Your heart yearned to stay with the man whose warm embrace made you feel safe, yet your conscious was telling you to go. You didn't want to see him hurt and yet the thought of you leaving was causing him more pain than he could bear. You never thought it would hurt him so much.
You found yourself stuck in a tight spot. Neither choice seemed right or wrong. Ultimately, you decided to listen to your heart. You thought that maybe if you put your trust in him that everything would turn out okay.
"Soryu, I'm sorry..." You muttered into his chest before telling him everything.
"I see. I'm sorry you had to go through this... Maybe, I should let you go. Staying here would only keep putting your life in danger." Soryu said, his eyes wavering sadly. "No," You vigorously shook your head before looking him in the eyes with your teary ones, "I don't want to go. I...I love you, Soryu. I want to stay with you." You pleaded. Soryu was slightly taken aback before giving you a tight squeeze, placing his chin on your shoulder, "Then I promise to look after you. We will get through this together. As long as I live no harm will come to you. Because...I love you too."
"Soryu..." You sobbed, so happy to know how he felt about you, "Thank you... Don't ever let me go, I never want to leave you."
"Don't worry, I won't. There is no way I would ever let you go. I couldn't even if I tried."
