ZC2 Bistro buzzes with conversation. Full of bodies that were enjoying the eatery. Business was booming for the former couple, and Caren was glad she accepted to partnership with her ex husband and didn't push it under the rug. Between counseling teens at her best friends nonprofit organization and working periodic shifts at ZC2 and motherhood, Caren was a busy woman.

Despite being divorced, Caren and Xavier's friendship has grown better than it has ever been. There might've been flirtatious moments from Xavier very often. But he knew his boundaries with Caren and knew to keep it strictly platonic.

Although Xavier still loved Caren, he respected her needing her individuality.

Caren was placing the receipt on a customer's full table when the door entrance bell got her attention. The college attending young boy and his grandparents walked in the packed restaurant. Caren was taken aback by it since she haven't heard from them in weeks. It was finally time for her to face the music. She told the table of people to have a great day before she walked over. "I got it Mel." she told ZC2's host.

The host nodded, allowing Caren to tend to them. "Mom. Dad. Hi baby."

"I want you and Nana and Pop to talk," Zay said. "I'll talk to you and Dad after. Cool?"

Nodding, Caren was just happy to see her child in the flesh. "Cool with me. Want to take it outside?"

Davina and Deon followed Caren, standing near his pickup truck. She was about to open her mouth to vocalize, but Davina bombarding her with a bear hug cut her off.

Caren chuckled shortly. "Mom.. You don't have to hug me. I'm fine."

Pulling back, Davina eyed her daughter intently. "I'm sorry I didn't ask questions when I noticed you and Kae's relationship took a turn. I was so hard on y'all keeping yo emotions in check that I didn't recognize what I was doing. You're my baby, and you were hurt.. By your damn sister nonetheless."
