Yeji sits in her living room, waiting for Ryujin to come over. The two are supposed to have a movie marathon of their favorite movies.
Hours go by but Ryujin hasn't arrived nor has she contacted Yeji. The latter starts to worry because this isn't like Ryujin. She's usually very punctual.
Yeji sends text messages to their friends to see if they've heard from Ryujin and no one has seen or heard from her.
Yeji starts to worry and she gets ready to leave to go to Ryujin's place when her phone rings. She looks at the screen and her heart suddenly starts beating fast.
She answers the phone, "Hello?"
"Yeji, come to the hospital. It's Ryujin. Hurry" Ryujin's sister, Yuna, says.
The worried girl doesn't say anything and rushes out the door. She gets in her car and drives as fast as she could to the hospital.
Once she arrives, she ask for Ryujin's room. As she runs to her girlfriend's room, her heart starts hurting but she doesn't understand why. She keeps telling herself that Ryujin is fine and that it could just be something small but she remembers Yuna's voice over the phone.
In front of Ryujin's room, Yeji sees her girlfriend's family. They're all in tears as they approach her. Yeji's pain in her heart worsens as she thinks about all the bad things that could be in that room.
The family starts explaining what happened but Yeji feels numb with all the words. She doesn't know how to react, she wants to cry but no tears would come out.
She slowly enters Ryujin's room with the latter's family still trying to speak to her but Yeji just wants to see Ryujin.
Yeji looks at Ryujin laying on the bed, looking sick. Finally, her tears fall. Ryujin gives the crying girl a faint smile and weakly motions her to come closer.
Yeji wipes her tears away as she walks towards Ryujin and sits on the chair next to her.
"Why didn't you tell me you're sick?" Yeji manages to ask.
"I didn't want you to worry. I'm sorry for hiding it. I never thought I would fall in love with someone. I did try to stop but I wanted to experience love before I go and I thought I had more time" Ryujin slowly says.
"I'm sorry. It's kind of like using you for my last wish before I die. I'm sorry" Ryujin starts crying now too.
Yeji starts thinking about their time together. She remembers all the sweet things Ryujin have said and done. She remembers how their love became so strong so fast. She remembers the day Ryujin proposed to her and everyone thought she was crazy for saying yes because it was so soon. They were gonna get married, have a family, and grow old together. Now, none of it is gonna happen.
Yeji scoots closer and takes Ryujin's hands, "Why would you be sorry, silly. You've given me so much love the last couple of months. I love you Ryujin. I love you so much that I don't know how I'm gonna handle it when you're gone."
"We may not be able to do what we wanted right now but we will. We will have that big wedding, that house in the countryside we dream of, the grandchildren you want to spoil, we're still gonna have that walker race you want to do when we're old" Yeji chuckles and sob at the same time, "We will make it happen but not now and I understand. I'll wait, Ryujin. I'll wait for you."
They sit there for a while as they continue to cry, having to face the sad reality that this will be their last moment together.
Yeji still wishes for Ryujin to be her wife so she brings up the idea of getting married at that moment.
Without hesitation, Yeji gets up to ask for help from Ryujin's family to get everything they need. The family willingly takes on the job and after short time, they manage to get things done.
Yeji was able to borrow a couple of rings from the people in the next room. Ryujin's parents were able to find someone to marry the two.
Yeji sits back down next to Ryujin and the officiant says his opening speech. Yeji says her vows first in front of Ryujin's family and the room is filled with laughter as they reminisce on some memories but their tears continues to fall.
Yeji looks into Ryujin's eyes that's also filled with tears, "I want you forever, forever and always. Through the good and the bad and the ugly. We'll grow old together and always remember whether happy or sad or whatever. We'll still love each other, forever and always" She finishes the vows.
We hear the machine beeps are getting too slow and we know what it means but none of us are ready. Ryujin's voice is almost too low as she says, "I love you forever, forever and always. Please, just remember even if I'm not there that I'll always love you, forever and always."
