"SSSSSSSSSSSSSS WOOOOOSHHHHHHH SSSSSSSSSSSSSS" Only the sound of the deafening storm can be heard in the city where I live. I woke up from the sounds of the raindrops and the wind. It was without a doubt dark outside because of the clouds. I sat up from my bed, yawned and rubbed my eyes a few times. After that I checked my alarm clock on the table beside my bed. "OH SH*T! IT'S 6:45 AM ALREADY!" I said as I hurriedly stood up, fixed my bed, ran towards the bathroom and did my usual routine.
After I took a shower I changed my clothes into a sweater and pants. The alarm clock usually rings at 6 am and my work starts at 10 am but before I go to work I need to wash my clothes, buy groceries, hang clothes and so on. My name is James and I'm 28 years old. I live alone inside my apartment so I do the chores on my own.
I cursed in my mind about that alarm clock. Why didn't that dumb alarm clock work? I just bought that two months ago and it was working fine everyday. Why did it suddenly not work? It can't be because I didn't hear it because of the noise coming from the storm outside because the alarm was literally beside my head and it makes a very loud "RING RING RING!!!" sound. I just put new batteries in it so it must be working. Sigh, maybe it just gave up because life is so hard... I hurriedly put on my shoes and took out a rain coat. Before I left to buy stuff I patted the heard of the alarm clock. I walked fast towards the elevator but saw that there was a sign with red and white colors in front of the door.
NOTICE
ELEVATOR OUT OF ORDER
WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE
PLEASE USE THE STAIRS FOR NOW
THANK YOU
Seriously!? The elevator is out of order now!? When I'm already almost an hour late! After reading that sign I then opened the door that lead to the stairs and ran on the stairs going downwards. I'm on the eighth floor and so it took me some time before I got to the lowest floor. There were only a few people on the floor because most of them were still sleeping. I went towards the exit door and opened my umbrella. I ran towards a supermarket store nearby and it took me ten minutes because the strong wind and rain made it difficult to walk. When I finally reached the entrance of the store I let out a sigh of relief.
I immediately opened the door and started placing food, shampoos, laundry stuff and drinks on my cart then went to the cashier to pay. There was about seven people in front of me. I checked my watch and it was 7:30 in the morning and there was still a storm outside so why are these people already here? I was annoyed and so I stopped thinking about it before I get more annoyed. After about ten long minutes it was finally my turn. After a minute the woman finished putting the things in a bag I left the store and went back to my apartment and went up the stairs and went inside my apartment.
I fixed my things then I started doing the laundry. While I was waiting for the washing machine to finish I made my breakfast and started eating. It was already 8:10 am. The boss is really strict when it comes to time. One time a co-worker was late for ten minutes and he got a scolding in front of everyone. That was really embarrassing for him.. I ate my breakfast then I started washing the dishes. After a minute the washing machine was finally done. I took out the clothes and went towards the window to see if it was still raining. It wasn't raining anymore. Although it was still dark outside there were no more rain. I then started hanging my clothes.
After I did that I took a rest on the couch for a minute then started sweeping the floor. Then I sat down on my chair, took the alarm clock and started examining what was wrong with it. After a few minutes I frowned. I tried fixing it but it just won't work. I'll just find a person to fix it tomorrow. It was already 9 am. One more hour before my work starts. I took out the trash then went outside my apartment. I walked on the stairs again and went to the lowest floor again then I was about to put my trash bag full of stuff in the huge trash cans when I saw that they were all full and there's no more space for my trash bags. The people must've forgotten to take them away. So I had to walk towards the other side of the huge hall and put my trash bags there in the trash cans. I went back to my apartment and then started wiping the windows. Then I saw the curtains had ants on it so I immediately sprayed them. After that I took a rest again and drank juice.
Then I opened my laptop to start making my presentation for work. After thirty minutes it was already 9:45 am. I packed my things then downstairs again and went to the parking area. I then realized it was raining heavily again. I guess I was too preoccupied in doing the presentation that I didn't realize it was raining again. It's usually sunny here and if there were rains it would only be light rain. I don't know why there would suddenly be heavy rain. I went inside my car and started driving. I only drive in my car when I go to work. I usually just walk when going to other places because they were near. The rain was very heavy and it started to have strong winds again.
The road was full of cars and was almost getting flooded. There was traffic. I'm now on a bridge and I think I see an ambulance with bright lights coming from behind? Cars made way for the ambulance and of course my car too. But suddenly a car followed the ambulance on high speed. The driver was probably impatient and just decided to follow the ambulance since the cars were making way for it. The ground was very slippery and the driver lost control of the car and hit the car in front of him. Then that car hit the cars in front then so on.
My car also got hit. There were lots of scream and cars stopping abruptly. I was on the edge of the bridge. My breath was fast and heavy. My heart beating fast. My fingers and toes all curled up. Blood coming out from my body. Then my car and other cars stopped moving. I let out a sigh of relief. I'm on the edge of the bridge right now. Maybe God decided to give me another chance for life? Maybe he felt bad for me? I didn't die. Maybe I should start doing more good things for people because I got another chance for life. Maybe- "SSSSSSSSSRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!" I suddenly heard an ear-piercing sound. The cars then started hitting each other again because of the slippery road. Then all I know next is that my car also got hit and me along with my car is on air falling from the bridge.
All I could hear was the rain, screams, cars hitting each other and more. I'll probably die from drowning or maybe blood loss. This was such an unusual morning.
