Monsters Inc One Shots (The Majority of it Being Randall)

Mike x Reader

(Y/N) Your Name. (L/N) Last Name. 

You're a twenty-five-year-old monster woman named (Y/N) (L/N). You live in the city of Monstropolis and you're a single woman. Well, that's because you recently had a bad breakup with your boyfriend. Randall Boggs.

Turns out, he was cheating on you with another girl. You didn't know who it was, but the only detail you saw on her was a silhouette through a screen door and she was tall and had a good figure. You recognized Randall's right away and you confronted him. 

He admitted to cheating and didn't regret a thing. He just laughed and told you the girl he was with was hotter. You kicked him out of your house and told him never to come back. Not just that, but he lost his job at Monsters Incorporated where he worked and was supporting the two of you. But no money came to you. 

You believe he spent it all on the girl he had been seeing. But you found out she's no longer with him, either. So now he's living with his former assistant from Monsters Inc after he lost his job and apartment. Jeff Fungus.

You're in your house right now and you've got a friend over. She's a former colleague of yours. Her name is Claire Wheeler. She was a former goth girl and president of a Greek council. You were there yourself, but you were with the art club. But you would hang out all the time. Plus, she was your roommate in college.

You're both sitting in the living room eating pizza. You ordered some. You're watching some anime shows on Scareflix. You say, "It's so nice being home and having a pizza. A bit of Scareflix, too. And anime." 

Claire says, "Yeah. Hey, girl. Sorry your relationship with you know who didn't go so well." You say, "It's okay. I'm over the asshole, anyways." She says, "And he used to be such a nice, shy guy. Too bad losing the scare games turned him into a total prick." You say, "I'd feel bad if he didn't cheat on me and not regret doing so. But I'm over him now, so... yeah." You eat your pizza.

You look at Claire and you say, "So how are you and Brock doing?" She says, "Great. He proposed to me, recently." You smile and you say, "Hey. That's great. I'm happy for you." She sighs and says, "Sorry if I brought that up, considering your relationship with Boggs didn't go well." 

You say, "Yeah. And he used to have a crush on me in college. Ha! Look how things change, huh?" She says, "Right? I hope you find someone better. Someone who won't hurt you like Randall did." You say, "Ch. Wish me luck on that. At least the girl he cheated with is no longer with him." She says, "True that." 

You say, "By the way, I'm getting a job at Monsters Inc soon." She says, "Hey, that's awesome. What department?" You say, "I'll be assisting a monster on the laugh floor." She says, "Hey, nice. Looks like you got Randall's old job." 

You say, "He was actually a janitor when they changed scaring to laughing. Ha! He couldn't do it. The whole laugh floor thing. No wonder he didn't support us." Claire says, "Damn woman. That's cold. Then again, being cheated on does that to you. And he kind of deserves to get roasted." You and Claire continue eating pizza and hanging out.

Meanwhile at another house, there's a little green monster with one eye, small horns on his head, etc. That would be Mike Wazowski. He lives with his friend, James P. Sullivan who's the CEO at Monsters Inc.

Mike sighs and says, "Unbelievable. Just unbelievable. Him of all monsters." He sighs and sits back. A big fuzzy blue monster with a tail, curled horns on his head, etc. comes walking in and sees Mike in distress. That would be Sullivan. Or Sulley for short.

He says, "Mike. Listen, I... I'm sorry you've had to go through such a bad breakup with Celia Mae." Mike sighs and says, "I really thought she and I had a thing going. Can't believe she suddenly fell for... HIM. Him of all monsters." 

Sulley says, "I'm shocked about that, too Mike. She couldn't stand him before." Mike says, "None of us could. I mean he was a nice guy in college but losing to you changed him. Celia and I really had something going, Sulley. We really did. We could've gotten married. All of that died down when I caught her with Randall. I-I mean she dumped him afterwards, but I'm not taking her back after she did me like that." 

Sulley sighs and says, "Mike. I think I need to get you out of the house. We're both off work for the rest of today. You could use a drink, buddy. You've been through enough." Mike says, "Yeah. May as well." He gets up and he says, "I'll get over her, eventually. I just... It's tough, Sulley." Sulley says, "Come on, Mike. Let's get you out for a little bit." He and Mike head out of the house.

(Time skip.)

The next day, you make it to your new job at Monsters Inc. You're pretty stoked about it. Best part is, you won't have to come across your ex, now that he lost his job. Good riddance in your book. He did cheat on you and not regret it a bit.

You get inside and you look around. You smile and you say, "This is gonna be good. Finally, a decent job where I can fend for myself and not try to count on a guy who I can't trust." You hear a deep voice saying, "Hi there." 

You look to see the CEO himself. James P. Sullivan. He smiles. You smile and you say, "Wow. James P. Sullivan. Nice to meet you." You hold your hand out and he takes it. You shake hands and he says, "Welcome to Monsters Incorporated." You say, "Thank you, sir." You move your hand away.

He says, "I've heard a lot about you, Miss. (L/N)." You say, "Yeah. Things were a bit... rough. But I'm over it, now." He says, "Yeah. My buddy Mike Wazowski went through a breakup himself. Celia Mae. She actually used to be the floor supervisor when it was the scare floor. Then the laugh floor." 

You sigh and you say, "My ex used to work here." He says, "Your ex? Who was he? Or she?" You say, "He was... Randall." He says, "Oh god." You say, "What's wrong?" He says, "That's who Mike caught her with." You're shocked and you say, "What?!" Everyone looks over at you.

He says, "Yeah. If you'd like to meet him, you can tell him." You say, "Yes. I would like to meet Mike. Tell him hi. Nice to meet him and then tell him that I know what he's going through. Wow, first day and I'm now finding out more of the truth about my ex." 

Sulley says, "I'm sorry for your situation. Randall's a bad guy. We've had quite a history with him. Me and Mike both. You're probably better off without him, anyways." You say, "I'm sure I will be. It was so nice to meet you, by the way. I'm honored to work here as an assistant for someone on the laugh floor." 

He smiles and says, "Great to have you. Follow me. I'll show you around and introduce you to Mike." You smile and you say, "I'd like that. Thanks." You follow the CEO and you suddenly come across a short green monster guy with one eye. Sulley grins and says, "Mike! There you are." 

Mike looks over and say, "Hey, Sulley. Who's this?" You and Sulley stop and Sulley says, "Mike. Meet the new employee. This is (Y/N) (L/N). She'll be assisting one of you guys on the laugh floor." Mike smiles and says, "Hey. That's great." He looks at you and he says, "Hey there. I'm Mike Wazowski." He holds his hand out.

You smile and you say, "(Y/N) (L/N)." You take his hand and you shake hands. You pull away and you say, "It's nice to meet you, Mike." Sulley says, "Mike. She knows." Mike says, "Knows what? What are y... Awe, man. Her first day and you already told her about my Celia cheating on me with Randall?" 

You say, "Randall Boggs is my ex." Mike looks at you and says, "C-come again? You were with Randall Boggs?" You say, "Yes." He says, "Wow. Hey, you mind if we have a talk about all of this later?" You say, "No. Not at all. I've just met you today and I've already found out that my ex cheated on me with YOUR ex." 

Mike says, "Deja vu, huh?" You say, "Yeah." He says, "Wow... Well, hey. Why don't we show you the laugh floor? That's my favorite part. Sure does get my mind off of what recently happened." You say, "I don't blame you. But sure. I'll see the laugh floor. I will be assisting someone down there after all." Sulley says, "Come on." You follow Mike and Sulley.
