Yns pov
I'm not sure how long I was in there... maybe a day? Maybe two? Who knows, but once the door opened and one of his guards stood there I took my chance. "Hey I'll do it." I said standing up.
"Do what?" He said confused.
"Give me another chance with Verin" I said
All he did was nod and grab my arm to lead me down the hall and up the many many many steps.
We finally got to his office and he opened the door and shoved me through. I stumbled in and he was in his chair reading something. Once he saw me he slammed his book shut.
"Thought you wanted nothing to do with me?" He asked. I sighed already irritated.
"Just give me one more chance" I said
"Fine, sit" he said pointing to the chair.
I obediently sat and started reciting the exact way it was going to go in my head.
"I can get you Camilo if... if you let the family go" I said.
He rolled his eyes "I told you it's out of my hands"
"But what if... I ensure he only tells the truth."
He seemed to stop for a moment to think.
"And if you guys are satisfied you have to let them go" I said.
"Alright yn, it's a deal" he said holding out his hand. I hesitantly went to shake it and when he grasped my hand something went up my veins. It made my arm tingle and I pulled away. I flipped my hand over and there was an odd blue mark. "It's a shifter deal," Verin said "it means neither of us can break our end." He continued with something gleaming in his eye. I gulped, so I had to get Camilo.. no big deal right?
They gave me three days to track down Camilo.
Three days.
It should be easy right? Maybe he went back to my house or the Encanto. He prob would be in the village or near his home. I started walking down to the village and I felt something slide out of my pocket. I looked down and saw a red button on a slit of iron. I quickly picked it up and put it back in my pocket. Verins guard gave me this and told me that when I find Camilo I'm supposed to puss the button and they would track down my spot and come immediately.
I walked down to the village and started hearing the familiar talking of villagers and the clicking of coins in somebody's pocket. I walked through and saw a food stall. I have no idea when was the last time I had food so I bought as much of it as I could. Maybe some for the family because they would need it. I started walking around asking people if they've seen Camilo.
"Who's that again?" one of the villagers asked.
"Uh he's like a little taller than me, brown curly hair and freckles and green eyes" I said reciting him easily.
"Ahh yes I saw him just an hour ago walking down on that path" the old man said pointing to a direction.
"Thank you!!" I said and started darting in that direction. The sooner I get Camilo the sooner the family is free. I made it to a dead end on the path and I looked around. It was kind of a clearing that had lots of trees around the rim. I soon recognized it as the clearing where the family was kidnapped.
I looked around for a moment. "Camilo!?" I whispered. "Camilo?!?" I said slightly louder.
"CAMILO!?" I finally yelled. No response, not even a sound. I sighed and started turned around when something tackled me in a hug.
"Camilo!?!" I whispered as he was in my arms.
"Yn?!? Are you hurt? Are you okay?" He asked breaking the hug and cupping my cheeks. I giggled, god I missed this idiot. "No Camilo I'm fine"
"Where's my family" he said looking around. Then I remembered what I had to do. I looked at the ground. "Camilo I'm sorry" I whispered.
"What!?!" He asked. I reached into my pocket and pressed the button before I could stop myself. They weren't exaggerating when they said they'd immediately be there. I mean like they were around us immediately. He looked at me with hurt in his eyes.
"You sold me out?" He said sounding heartbroken.
"Camilo I-" I started but a guard yelled
"NOW MOVE IN" one came in and grabbed Camilos hands and put them behind his back. I didn't look at him. I don't think I could handle it.
The guard dragged him into a van to take him to Verins place and another grabbed my hands and put them behind my back.
"Hey, hey! I need to talk to him!" I yelled as they shut the van door.
"Sorry that one's full" one said as they shoved me into a dif van.
The drive was long, and boring. But finally we were there. Once I caught up to Camilo the guard was pulling him along and his hands were still behind him. "Hey wait! Give us a second" I said looking at the guard and he let go of Camilo and stepped back. I reached for his arm but he jerked away.
"You betrayed me yn.. I don't think I can trust you again" he said looking away with tears in his eyes. That burnt a hole in my heart but I had to fix this.
"Wait, theres a reason-" I said
"There isn't any excuse to what you did yn" he said angrily.
"You have to let me explain!" I said getting teary eyed. He glared at me but stayed silent.
"I made a deal" I said calmly and lifted up my sleeve to show him the blue mark. His eyes widened. "Your whole family will be released if you just-" I started but the guard interrupted
"Alright times up"
"Wait but-" I started but was interrupted again
"No, Verin will be upset if he waits any longer"
He started dragging Camilo away.
"CAMILO YOU HAVE TO ANSWER TRUTHFULLY" I yelled as he was being dragged away and another guard was reaching to drag me away. Camilo didn't look at me.
"CAMILO PLEASE TELL HIM WHATEVER HE WANTS TO KNOW" I yelled again as I was being dragged to the door. Camilo still didn't look at me. "CAMILO PLEASE I LO-"
The door slammed in my face and I was dragged to the dungeons again.
I arrived and I sat and waited by the door.
"Mamí I'm hungry" Antonio complained
"I know tonito but we don't have any-" Pepa said
"I have some" I interrupted. Everybody turned to me so I cleared out my pockets. They divided it equally and they ate their food gladly.
I'm not sure how long we were in there but after a while a guard came to the door and opened it. "Alright you guys are good to go" he said. I stood up and made sure everybody in the family made it out. I stayed walking through the door when he pushed me back in with his finger. "No no he said the family only" he said and slammed the door in my face.
