The boy is a vessel for the great demon king guy and was supposed to take celestias life on the boat but failed because he didn't realize the magic barrier surrounding the boat so he cant do anything about it
when the demon seal is broken by the end of the story the boy gets possessed by the devil and attempts to take celestias life but he was killed lol
to make things more interesting, the boy vessel was supposed to not have its own mind and consciousness bc devil thought barrier didnt exist on the boat
when he realized this he decided to givr it it's own consciousness to make friends with celestia so that when he finally breakd the barrier thing on the unicorn kingdom he can take her life
but the boy was no longer just a vessel, he was like an actual living breathing natural human or something so like even when he was possessed he could still talk for himself
