Chapter Three: Mate

A/N: Hey guys sorry its been so long but I've been really busy. Ok so I have descided that if no one likes my stories then im just going to stop writing. I have alot of stories going but I only have two votes so far and they arent on the same story. So unless I get TEN votes on this story then I am not going to post anymore on it. :( I love to write and I hope everyone will vote on it because I like these characters but it is up to you. Chapter Three: Mate

As soon as she walked back towards the school I shifted back into my human form. I was in a great mood for once when we shifted back and somehow our clothes somehow survive to stay on as we turn into humans. I suppose it just goes with our fur but I don't know. Mike looked at the ground and shook his head.

"I swear I had no idea" he said, pacing back and forth.

"I know" I said and he froze in place. Seconds later he spun to face me, rage plain on his face.

"How dare you! You were going to kill her without letting me explain!" He growled and I glared at him.

"Am I that cruel?" I snarled and he looked puzzled

"Would I really kill an innocent child because she made me mad?" I continued and he snorted and opened his mouth to respond.

"Or would I have CHASED HER OFF?!" I interrupted him without letting him get a word out.

"God! Mike you have me pinned as this bad person that has no feelings and kills without mercy! Is that what you think of me? Do I disgust you Mike?" I said and turned, facing my back towards him, before he had a chance to see the tears in my eyes. Being Alpha was hard, being the only female Alpha ever was beginning to seem impossible.

"No! Soph you know me better than that." Mike said and I spun around, glaring at him.

"Oh really? Do I?" I asked and he frowned.

"Yes. We have known each other for a long time Soph. You know me, you know how I feel about you." He said and tears stung my eyes again.

"Ya. I know how you feel Mike." I said and turned around. I started walking when suddenly strong arms spun me around and pulled me into a hug.

"Soph, I don't think you do. But that's a good thing I suppose, you can't ever know how I feel. It would be bad for you. It would make you seem weak to the rest of the pack." He said, his voice barely above a whisper.

"Please tell me. Don't worry about how it makes me seem to others, I can take care of myself." I said and he lifted my chin up, making me lock eyes with him.

"I can't risk your safety." He said softly, but I could see the doubt in his eyes.

"Mike" I said softly and I could see the resolve in his eyes vanish.

"Sophie, I think I'm your mate" he said and I smiled.

"I know" I said and his eyes shown. He leaned down and pulled me close, our lips finally touching for the first time. It was perfect. It felt like I was on fire everywhere we touched. I was the first to pull back and I looked up at him.

“Wait, what do you mean you know?” he asked suddenly looking at me, his eye brows furrowed in confusion.

“Well, I suppose it makes since. I mean, I feel like it’s true and I have learned to trust my instincts.” I said softly and looked at the ground. He sighed and pulled me close.

“And that’s what makes you a good Alpha” he said softly and kissed the top of my head. Then it hit me, I couldn’t let anyone know.

“Mike….” I said softly and he put his hand over my mouth.

“I know Soph. I know we can’t let anyone know.” He said softly and I smiled. He still didn’t move his hand so I kissed it softly and he shivered. He pulled his hand away and wrapped his arms around my waist.

“We better get going; we should get to the pack house before the moon comes up.” I said softly and he nodded.

“I know.” He sighed and pulled me close and kissed me softly. I laughed softly and his face turned red.

“I’m going to assume that the thing poking me in the stomach is a flashlight you have in your pocket.” I said laughing and he groaned.

“Soph you know perfectly well what that is.” He said hoarsely with a half-smile on his face. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around him automatically. My eyes grew wide as he rubbed himself against me. I leaned my head back as he kissed my neck and let a small moan escape my lips.

“I say we rent a hotel room.” I whispered and he laughed a rich throaty laugh.

“That’s a marvelous idea, but it’s a full moon tonight Soph.” He said softly and I smiled.

“Mike” I said as my eyes snapped open. It was my 103rd full moon, that meant I had to find a mate soon and be marked. That also meant that all of the male wolves would be after me tonight so that they can mark me by force, thus becoming second in command of the pack, or if they were bold enough, take my place.

“Yes?” He said with a smile on his face.

“It is my 103rd moon.” I said, voice barely above a whisper. His eyes grew wide and he looked at me, panicked.

“Let’s go then.” He said softly and didn’t let me down. He walked towards his house on the edge of my packs territory.

“Mike we have three hours. We have to run.” I said softly and he nodded and set me down. I took a deep breath and concentrated on the change. I let the power roll through me and felt my body start changing. In reality it took less than a second but to me it seemed to take about a minute as I felt my body shift. It was easy and effortless but I preferred to be in control so I made sure to feel everything. When I opened my eyes again I was a wolf. I looked up and saw Mike finish shifting a second later. I motioned for us to go and we ran towards his house. Mike was smart enough not to pass me, after all I was the Alpha. I loved to run as a wolf, whether I was alone or with another wolf. We made it to his house in a few minutes and I effortlessly shifted back into human form in about three seconds. He shifted as well and opened the door, ushering me inside the small house. It looked like a log cabin and it was very homey inside, very cozy.

“Are you sure about this Soph?” He asked and as an answer I jumped in his arms and kissed him. I wrapped my legs around him and smiled as I rubbed myself against him.

“I’ll take that as a yes.” He groaned and kissed me back.
