Law knew that Luffy wasn't even aware of the other hidden meanings of what she said, but still, he couldn't stop himself from giving it another meaning.

Could it be that the girl likes him?

He's been ignoring the thought even though he didn't fail to notice the little hint of affection Luffy shows. And he's aware that the girl hasn't realized that yet, given how innocent Luffy is from his observations.

He's ignoring it because he just couldn't see himself being intimate with someone. And he doesn't have time for those kinds of things..

It isn't new for Law to have someone who liked him in a romantic manner. There are countless women who have confessed their love to him since he started high school up until the present, but he never entertained any of them. He doesn't believe in love. He thinks that it's stupid for people to believe in such a thing. He himself didn't see it in his parents.

Luffy noticed that Law became more quiet after what she said. She realized that he might be uncomfortable. She suddenly wanted to get hit by her grandpa's fist of love. 'Idiot Luffy, sometimes you need to learn how to keep your mouth shut.' She could've enjoyed the beautiful scene of Law's laughter longer.

Her thoughts were interrupted when her phone rang.

"Hello, who's this?" Luffy answered without checking who was calling.

"Lufffyyy senpai! Hancock-sensei's been looking for you! Why didn't you attend the class today?"

She heard Bartolomeo's voice whispering on the other line, one of her junior schoolmates.

She could hear their teacher, Boa Hancock, in the background yelling.

She frowned. Law even noticed Luffy's reaction to the phone call, which made him wonder who she was talking to.

"It totally slipped my mind! My bad!" Luffy responded, even if it's obvious on her face that she's lying.

"You need to come here right now. She wouldn't show us any mercy. Please senpai!" The boy begged.

"I don't want to attend extra classes anymore, it's so boring." Luffy scowled.

When Law heard what she said, he lifted an eyebrow.

'You there! Why are you using a cellphone in my class?!'

Luffy could feel Barto's body froze when she heard their teacher's voice, probably referring to Bartolomeo, and she didn't want to imagine what would probably happen to him after their teacher found out he was using a cellphone in her class.

The call ended after that.

She kept her phone in her pocket and planned to ignore the conversation when she was welcomed by Law's narrowed eyes, suspiciously looking at her.

"W-what?"

"What was that phone call all about?" Law asked

"It's nothing." Luffy answered while scratching her nose and shifting her gaze sideways to avoid eye contact that made Law even more suspicious.

Law crossed his arms over his chest, still raising a brow.

"Has anyone ever told you that you are not good at lying?"

Luffy's mouth snapped shut and pouted. She didn't really want to tell Law about it because she wanted to spend more time with him, and knowing Law, he would force her to attend her classes, which was the last thing she wanted to do. But it looks like she didn't have any other choice. Law's gazes are like Ace's death glares. Luffy bit her lip and started talking.

"Uh, i was attending summer classes together with the juniors..."

Luffy hid her face in her Strawhat to avoid Law's glares.

"...but it wasn't really necessary for me to do so! I already finished my senior year a year ago, My brother's just wanted me to take extra lessons."

Luffy pouted.

Law didn't talk.

He just thought that this girl.. sure is living her life. Even in her simple demeanor, he can tell that she's from a well off family. She wore simple clothes and lives in a simple town but her skin says it all. She looks different from the other folks in town too.

"I've been skipping the class sessions for a week now, I guess, but it's okay! I'm sure Hammock-sensei wouldn't mind."

Law just stared at the girl with a deadpan face.

"How can you be so sure that your teacher wouldn't mind your absences?"

"Because she's kind! I just know it." Luffy grinned with confidence.

Law sighed in disbelief. He stood up and grabbed Luffy's arm.

"Ow. Where are we going, Torao?" Luffy asked while struggling to remove Law's hand from her arm.

"I'll drive you to your school."

"What?! But I don't want to!"

"Yes, you will."

"I told you, i hate studying!"

Luffy wouldn't stop struggling to free herself from Law's grip until they arrived at his car.

Now Luffy is sitting in the passenger seat, arms crossed, staring out the window with an angry pout, refusing to look at Law.

Law is really amused by this side of Luffy, he likes seeing the adorable creature pouting by his side. It makes him want to pinch the girl's cheeks till he is fed up with her cuteness.

"Chibi-ya." He called softly, begging for the raven's attention.

Luffy didn't budge.

He leaned closer to see the girl's face, who was turning away from him, refusing to meet his gaze.

"Hey." He called again.

He stiffened when Luffy suddenly turned to face him, with only a few inches left between their faces.

Her gaze dipped toward him, as if she were probing the depths of his soul. Law's heart was pounding like crazy in his chest. Any louder and he was sure Luffy would be able to hear it.

Her lips parted and he couldn't stop himself from staring at those pink moist lips. His throat suddenly ran dry.

Before he couldn't control himself, he jerked away and straightened his seat. Luffy was left staring at him with her usual innocent face.

He knew that he was the only one who was feeling that way with the close contact. He felt a slight pain in his heart at the thought. He's mad. And he's not sure of what really upsets him. Is it because he's feeling that way towards the girl? or because he's the only one feeling that way towards her.

What the fuck Trafalgar? What are you? A teenager dealing with his first crush?

He sighed and drew in a long breath. His thoughts are full of ridiculous things. How could he feel those things with a kid... yes Luffy is not a minor but in his eyes, she's just a child.

He raked his fingers through his hair and gripped the steering wheel to let out his frustrations.

Luffy, on the other hand, just stared at the man who looked like he would break the steering wheel if he continued to grip it tightly.

Earlier, she assumed that his face would come any closer, but she immediately ignored the thought when Law pulled away.

Her heart was beating loudly earlier that she thought she would explode.

She sighed because she couldn't deny the fact that she somehow anticipated for it.

'Torao would never kiss me.'
