I sat next to her as I studied her sleeping form. She was now laying in a hospital bed hooked up to IVs and a heart monitor. A stray hair lay over her sleeping face. Without thinking I reached out, moving it to the side of her face.

I gently brush the back of my hand over the softness of the skin on her cheek. I hummed low in satisfaction from the touch. My wolf was stirring inside myself excited for they had found my mate.

I pull away from her looking at the bruises and cuts on her wrist. I growled at the sight of them. My eyes flashed murderously thinking about those worthless wolves chaining her up, doing who knows what to her.

Shortly after the Dr. comes walking in with a folder in her hand. "How is she doc?" The Dr. sighed looking down  at her sleeping form from the other side of the bed. She adjusted her glasses a bit before speaking.

"She could have died had you not saved her. Even if that wolf wouldn't have done her in, her illness and injuries would have for sure. I took some blood samples and it appears she is very dehydrated and malnourished. And also..." She pauses.

I clasp my hands together already knowing the answer. "Go on doc." She nods. "Her body also shows signs of multiple, brutal rape." She goes silent letting him process all of this information. "Also, it looks like her wolf has vanished. She is still there, but the trauma has made her go silent."

"Do you need anything before I leave?" She asks softly. I simply nod my head. She checks the monitors before leaving me alone with her. "One more thing, she was branded by the pack symbol. Blood Moon pack."

I nod as the doctor leaves. I take her hand and bring it to my cheek. I rub the whiskers of my beard on her small, delicate hand holding back the tears.
"Why would they do this to you?" I kissed the back of her hand then stood. I rub her forehead with his thumb for a few seconds before leaving.

Anger courses through my veins at the ones who did this to my mate. I mind-links with my beta. "Taylor, I need you to take our best warriors and scope the area for any stray wolves. If they belong to the Blood Moon Pack, tail them but don't let them see you."

"Understood, Alpha." I break the link heading to my office back at the pack house. I ignore the people greeting me as I try to tap down my rage. I would find the Blood Moon pack and kill them all.
