Chapter Two:

“Arianna, I see you accepted my job offer.” Emrys said as I approached the weapons shed.

“We can use all the money we can get right now.” I said harshly and looked up at him, glaring.

“Feisty little one aren’t you?” He said and laughed.

“Didn’t mother tell you to stay in her office?” I snapped and he laughed again.

“I don’t do orders.” He said simply and I groaned inwardly. I debated to myself whether I should just kill him here and now. Na I’ll wait until I can kill both him and his brother. He stopped laughing and his head whipped towards the forest.

“Someone’s coming.” He said softly and shifted into a kitten. Pathetic. About three seconds after that Will burst through the bushes.

“Hey” I said and looked down at the kitten that was Emrys.

“What’s that? I thought your mother banned pets on campus.” He said and an idea popped into my head. I technically hadn’t started my job yet.

“You’re right” I sighed and rolled my eyes. I picked up the Emrys kitten and walked into the forest a little ways. I tossed him aside and turned to leave but suddenly the Emrys vampire was there. He choked me and pinned me against a tree.

“How dare you!” He roared and I cursed myself for not bringing a weapon with me. I brought my knee up and hit him in-between his legs. He may be an immortal but he was still a guy. He doubled over and I ran from the forest.

“Will!!!” I screamed and Emrys tackled me from behind. Will appeared half a second later and threw a dagger in Emrys shoulder. Emrys groaned and rolled off of me so I got up and ran. Will pulled me into a hug as soon as I got to him and handed me a dagger.

“Alright!” Emrys yelled and held up his uninjured hand. About that time my mother ran to us.

“Arianna! Thank god you are ok! Emrys is gone and I cant…… Oh. Arianna why does he have a poisoned dagger in his shoulder?” She asked her eyes wide.

“Because Lady Catherine, he attacked her.” Will said shortly. I was still in his arms and he had a protective stance about him. My mothers eyes grew wide and she looked at Emrys.

“Is that true?” She asked and it was clear as day with the expression on her face that she was just putting together who he was.

“No mam” He said but it was to late. She was after him. She walked to him and stepped on his back in her heals and he screamed.

“You. Killed. My. Family.” She roared and stepped on him with each word. He didn’t even try to fight back.

“That was my brother” he said after she had taken her rage out on him and his face looked pale. I actually felt bad for him. I groaned and stepped out of Wills arms and went over to Emrys. I made him lay his head down and I pealed off his shirt. The wounds were bad and they made my stomach roll just looking at them. I took off my shirt and the vial I had around my neck of medicine to cure blood poisoning. It worked for vampires as well. I dabbed at the wounds with my shirt, ignoring Will and my mothers protests, and placed a dot of meds on each wound. When I got to the dagger I pulled it out and poured extra meds on that particular wound. I pulled the dagger up and sliced my hand open. My blood had healing abilities from when I almost died alongside my father and brother but an immortal saved me. I still hadn’t figured out who it was that saved me that night but I know that I owe them my life. I dripped my blood on each of his wounds and they closed immedeatly.

“We will be leaving now. After all I am your body guard.” I said and tried not to think about what I just did. I saved the creature that killed half of my families brother.

“Thank you Miss. Arianna” He said softly and I turned to look at Will and my mother. They were gone. I went into the weapons shed and took what I thought I would need. I also grabbed another shirt and slipped it on as well as extra clothes for a month and more blood poisoning meds. I didn’t know what I was going to do but I new now that I couldn’t kill him. I would just have to settle for killing Emrys brother.
