SUMMARY: Chris surprises reader for Christmas

"are you sure you can't fly down for Christmas? just for the day and then you can go back the next day, I miss you" I say to Chris through our FaceTime
He's currently filming a movie in Atlanta while I'm in our LA home without him, dodgers been good company though
"I miss you too, but we're on a tight schedule so we're filming on Christmas Day" he sighs rubbing his head
"oh" I say in disappointment, I already knew what the answer was gonna be, but nevertheless I'm still disappointed
"I'm sorry honey, I really wish I could be with you" he tried to make me feel better, but the only thing that really could is him actually being here
"It's okay, I understand you're working and I would never want to stop you from doing so, I love you" I say not trying to make him feel worse
"I love you too, we have to start shooting in 5 minutes I have to go get my hair and makeup touched up, I'll talk to you later" he smiles
"Okay bye have a good day" I smile hanging up
immediately after hanging up my smiles drops, I really didn't want him to be distracted because of me so I had to act at least a little happy
and now I'm alone again, just dodger and I in this big house.
the FaceTimes help me feel a little better but its not the same as him actually being here

"Merry Christmas dodger!!" I say as I wake up with him at the foot of the bed
I sigh as I get ready for the day in my Christmas pjs knowing it's gonna be lonely as it's just me and dodger
I go into the living room putting on a random Christmas movie
"you hungry dodge?" I ask him walking into the kitchen with him following
I make popcorn and put Christmas colored m&ms in it for myself and fill dodgers bowl up with his dog food walking back to the living room
I sigh watching the movie "this is our Christmas dodger" I put a handful of the popcorn mixture into my mouth
a couple minutes into the movie I hear the doorbell ring
"that's probably Chris's present" i say to myself pausing the movie and walking over to the door
I open the door my eyes widen after I realized it was in fact, not Chris's present
but Chris himself
"chris!!!" I exclaim hugging him excitedly
He laughs hugging me back, taking me into the house
"how are you here?" I ask still I'm shock
"a plane" he says laughing
"we'll I obviously know that, but I thought you guys were filming" I say confused
"I lied, we were supposed to film all week but they let us go home last minute for the holidays and I just thought it would be better to surprise you" he said putting his bag down
dodger ran over and jumped on his legs
"Hey buddy" Chris says petting dodger
"we'll we're so glad you're here" I say hugging him again
"okay come on we're gonna open presents and watch movies and eat cookies" I say dragging him to the couch
he laughs sitting on the couch with dodger as I go to get his presents
"I love you" he says as I sit on the couch next to him
"I love you too" I say connecting our lips into a short but sweet kiss
