Silence fell upon us, the tension arising in the air. Even the witch stopped talking for the moment being and we all digested her words, especially Aria, whose anxiety level seemed to boost, her nails breaking under her teeth one after another. She whined when the very same silver light broke through her skin and a crescent shaped tattoo appeared on her collarbone.
Witch: You may now step forward and face the second probation of this game. Be wise.
I looked towards the girls, but only Denise nodded towards me. Aria was still looking at the yellow light insistently and her fingers lingered on her collarbone. I didn't think twice and twisted the door knob. A bright light met my eyes and made me close them immediately. It hurt, but I forced myself to open them again. Before I knew it, the door shut behind me and I was trapped in a room which seemed more like another dimension. A rainforest spread in front of my eyes and for a moment I panicked a little. Beams of sunlight made their way through the leaves and lit up the brightly colored wings of a macaw. An enormous butterfly flitted from plant to plant. Monkeys shouted and chatted as they swung from tree to tree. The rainforest was bustling, colorful shades meeting my gaze. It was beautiful. Even paradisiac.
But what was I supposed to do in a rainforest like this one? I blinked twice and pondered whether I should walk or stay in one place.
Vale: Maybe it's better if I walk.
I might have to find something. The rules to this game are so unclear, it makes me want to scream at whoever made it up. I looked upwards. Should I seek the blonde witch's help? What was her name? Did she even have a name?
Vale: *my heartbeat increased* Blonde witch? I don't really know your name... *I screamed reluctantly*... but... I kind of need some help. What am I supposed to-
Rustles in the bushes caught my attention and my senses sharpened, making the magic in my veins writhe.
Vale: *I gulped* Okay girl. Calm down.
A deep breath and the magic tingled the tip of my fingers. I stepped forward cautiously and looked around. The rustling resounded again. I looked towards it immediately and raised my hands, prepared to defend myself. The tattoo behind my right ear started to burn and sting a little, distracting me. What the fuck?
A moment of inattention and, in a split second, my body crashed into the Kapok tree behind me. The lack of breath made me cough and the pain that spread through my rib cage area left me numb. I blinked twice, trying to regain my vision and spotted my opponent waiting for me to react. A massive tiger was looking directly at me, growling and demanding a battle.
