Chapter 13: Family

Samira's POV

People say that when everything in life goes wrong you always have your family to go back to but what if your family is the reason why everything in your life went wrong in the first place?

Aryan's POV

I woke up with a jerk as I heard a knock on the door, I had yet again fallen asleep on the couch while trying to console Rashmi who was now sleeping peacefully next to me resting her head on my shoulder. It has been a week since Shiv left her and she has been an inconsolable emotional mess ever since.

"Come in" I said as I knew only one person would come to visit the two of us now.

"Hey you guys I bought takeout food"

Shanaya said walking in. I made Rashmi lay on the sofa and covered her with a blanket, before I walked up to Shanaya to collect the covers from her.

"How is she?" Shanaya asked looking at Rashmi.

"She is a mess; I am getting worried about her now"

"Did you try talking to Shiv again?"

"I tried so many times he just wouldn't listen to me he seems really hurt himself so I didn't even wanted to push him too much"

"Did you hear anything from Samira by any chance?"

In between all this I was distracted from the fact that Samira had just run out on me a week ago I haven't heard from her ever since of course not being around her was breaking my heart but I was trying to be strong for Rashmi right now so I never even got a chance to deal with all those emotions.

"No I haven't heard from her ever since she left she is not picking up my calls or answering my texts"

"And you have no idea why she left?"

"Not a clue"

"No arguments? No disagreement? Nothing?"

"Nope, the time I saw her she was a but upset after knowing you were getting a divorce but we talked and she was feeling okay, other than that everything seemed okay with her; we were even making progress in our relationship and she seemed really happy"

"Wow that's very weird"

"She will be back eventually she is my Samira she always comes back for me I am sure of that, right now I just need to focus on getting Shiv to listen to me"

"I might know someone who Shiv would listen to"

"Rohan?"

"They are best friends after all, but we are not on talking terms now I would have to go meet him personally"

"I will come with you"

"You don't have to"

"But I want to"

"You should stay here with Rashmi"

"My staying here is not helping Rashmi right? So I should come with you if I have to help her"

"Why are you insisting on this?"

"Because Rashmi is family, when we got married right after I lost Samira she stayed up with me through all of my sleepless nights, when I found out that my own family betrayed me she was there for me and also Anaya never made us feel lonely, and when Anaya left me she almost gave up her own life to take care of me believe it or not she is the only family I have and I can't see her like this anymore she has been through enough because of me and will do anything to see her happy once again"
