VERENA VERDE

I cracked my head and my neck after feeling stiff. The sound echoed on the empty hall. It's natural, there's no other person here aside from my maid, Elena.

"Ah, It was tiresome." I sighed and slumped myself on the throne.

Elena just stood next to me without saying a word.

"My lady, did you enjoy it?"

My eyes immediately glared at my maid when she asked me. It was an obvious question on what she is pertaining to.

"Shut up."

After a few moments of silence between us, I sighed. I've been living in this castle without everyone knowing. My existence is quite a secret, no one knows that I exist aside from the vampires who works for me. They're stray vampires who was chased out of their lands and ended up on my castle. I kept them as long as they work for me. They have no place to go anyway and this huge castle is empty.

Nakarinig ako ng mga yapak na papalapit, kahit alam ko na mayroong papasok sa bulwagan ay nanatili pa rin ako sa aking pwesto. Ilang segundo pa ang lumipas ay nakita ko na ang pigura ni Josefa. Nakayuko ito habang nakatindig sa aking harapan, mayroon din siyang dala dalang isang kahon sa kaniyang isang kamay.

"Josefa." I called.

"Yes, My Lady. How was your visit outside?" Sa wakas ay nag-angat na ito ng tingin saakin.

"It was... Fun." I smirked.

"Mabuti naman at nag-enjoy kayo." Tahimik na ngumiti si Josefa at nag-lakad papalapit saakin.

Hinawi ko ang mahaba at tuwid kong buhok sa kaliwang balikat at inilaylay ko iyon sa aking kanan. Sumandal ako sa aking trono. Umakyat naman si Josefa sa hagdanan upang lumapit saakin. Dinig na dinig ang tunog na nalilikha ng kaniyang suot na sapatos sa bulwagan habang paakyat ito ng hagdanan.

When she finally my throne, I sat there and patiently awaits for her to do what she needs to do.

"What a deep wound."

Josefa commented while damping her fingers on my bare skin, analyzing the thing I got there.

"Masakit ba, Verena?" Tanong ni Josefa habang nililinis ang aking sugat. Umiling ako.

Ilang minuto lamang ang lumipas ay natapos na ni Josefa ang kaniyang trabaho kaya naman umayos ako ng upo at inilaylay sa dalawang balikat ko ang aking buhok. I stood up and started to walk back and forth while staring at my hands. The rings I wear are shining as the dim light that peaks on one window on the throne room meets it.

Tumigil ako ng mapansin ang buong silid. Tiningala ko ito at inikot ng tingin upang tignan ang kabuoan, kung gaano ito kalaki. Inilipat ko naman ang aking tingin sa chandelier na hindi nagagamit kaya makikita mo ang bakas ng pag-abando rito.

"Don't you think it's been quiet on the Vampire Region these days?" I asked out of the blue.

Elena, my personal maid gasped and immediately turned to look at me when she heard the words I uttered. Her face is wearing a surprise look.
