CHAPTER 38

Namilog ang mata ko sa narinig. "K-keith?!" Nabubulol pa ako sa pagkagulat. Ang Keith na nasa isip ko at ang Keith na sinasabi niya ay iisang tao lang ba.

This is my karma for being so curious. Curiosity kills nga. Napasentido ako at kinuha ang nahulog kong tinidor inilagay ko iyon sa mesa. Pinunasan ko na din ang aking labi dahil tapos na akong kumain.

Kumunot ang noo ni Drew. Tila ito nag aalala. "What's wrong? You look tensed."

Sinalubong ko ang kanyang mga mata. He looks worried, mata pa lang niya ay alam ko nang nagaalala siya.

Lumabi ako. "I'm alright... medyo nagulat lang konti." Paano kung ang Keith na naiisip ko at ang kaibigan niya ay iisa? Was the words he said about him is true? Did he really run away from his wedding and now looking for me? Napakarami ng mga naiisip ko ngayon, Hindi ko na alam ang sasabihin kay drew.

"Why? Ano ang ikinagulat mo?" Kunot noo niyang tanong.

Should I tell him the truth?

"M-may...kilala din kasi akong keith..." bakit kaya ako nauutal? Am I tensed because Keith is currently waiting for me? Kung totoo man iyong sinasabi niya. Napabuntong hininga ako, napahawak din ako sa aking dibdib dahil sa lakas ng tibok nito.

"Can I ask what's his last name? Would you mind?" Nakatingin lang siya ng diretso saakin. He looks bothered para siyang naguguluhan.

"Keith Delgado," sambit niya.

I knew it!! Its him! Iisa lang ang keith na kilala namin.

Nangunot ang noo ni Drew. "Do you know him as well?" Curious niyang tanong.

Should I tell him? I mean, they're friends. He told me Keith was waiting and currently looking for me. So, does it mean that he really loves me all along? Why did he engaged that girl then? Was that all for a reason? Then what was his reasons then? I have a lot of questions for him whenever I see him again. I am so confused at this moment.

"I will be honest with you, Drew." Seryoso kong sagot sa kanya. "Keith is the father of my daughter." Napalunok ako, medyo nahihiya akong sabihin sa kanya ang totoo. "It's a long story." Dugtong ko pa.

I told him the truth. The whole story of me and Keith. Nagulat pa siya sa revelation ko kung bakit daw ako iniwan ni keith and why did he engaged that girl in the first place. Kung ako naman pala ang totoong mahal niya. Ang dami din niyang tanong. Tanong na si Keith lang ang makakasagot.

Me and Drew parted ways. I droved myself home, he was left hanging because even me I don't have the answers. I am as confused as him. Naalala ko ang sinabi niya Keith was waiting for me at home medyo na excite pa ako papauwi.

I hurriedly went inside the house. Chan-chan greeted me with a warm hugs and kisses. I kissed her back and hugged her tight and sweet. I looked around the house hinahanap si Keith.

"Chan-chan, anak." hinawakan ko sa balikat ang anak ko. "Do we have a visitor today?" Patukoy ko kay keith.

Umiling ang anak ko. "No, nanay. We don't have visitors today. Bakit po nay, meron ka ba hinihintay?"

I thought Keith was waiting for me? Where is he then? Was that all a lie?

"W-wala anak.." dismayado kong sagot.

9PM... wala talagang Keith na dumating. I should've known better. Keith was probably lying to his friend Drew. I know him, gago ang lalaking iyon. I don't why I expected, that was stupid of me.

Chan-chan is already sleeping. I sat beside her bed and kissed her on her forehead. "I am sorry, baby. I really want you to have a complete happy family, but I always fail." Medyo naluha ang aking mata. Maybe going out of the country will be the better option for us maybe we can start a new life and new beginnings. I want her to grow up happy and successful thats all I can give her since I can't give her complete family.

My phone rang...

"Hello?" Sagot ko.

"Hey, its me. Can you meet me tonight?"

"I was about to go to bed. Is this important?" Tanong ko.

"Yes, very..."

I got dressed. I didn't even bother to put makeup on it's just Drew. I mean... what for? He knew my past now that I was with his friend. No hopes for me to be with drew. I'll just accept that I will be a single mom and an independent woman. I'm tired of dating and flirting. I will just focus on my daughter and myself.

I went back to that restaurant we were in earlier. I was looking for him but I couldn't find him. Dont tell me that guy is pranking me? I swear to god! I will kill him.

May kumalabit sa balikat ko. "Hi, Miss Nancy!" Lumingon ako sa kanya. "Hello?..." balik ko sa waitress.

How come she knew me? This is only my second time coming in here. "If you can please follow me..." ngiting sabi niya.

"O-okay..." I followed her confused. Whats going on here? What does Drew trying to do? Ang pangit pa naman ng sinuot ko t-shirt and jeans lang, wala pa akong make-up.

We went all the way up to the rooftop. Aba! Merong table and candles. Is drew gonna proposed to me? Ang bilis ha!

But...

I'm the only one here? Like seriously? Hindi nakakatuwa ha.

I was left alone here. Umalis ng walang paalam ang waitress. Napabuntong hininga ako.

"WHATS GOING ON HERE?" Sigaw ko um-echo pa iyon. "This is not funny at all!" Dugtong ko pa.

"Jeez..." rinig kong boses.

"You're always loud." Pangiting sabi niya.

Napalingon ako sa kinaroroonan niya, nanlaki ang mata ko at nagulat ako sa lalaking naglalakad patungo sa akin.

He's only 6 inches away from me.

"STOP!!" Sigaw ko. "Why are you here?" Nagtatakang tanong ko, akala ko ba si drew ang i me-meet ko? Did they plan all this?

He smirked. "You know that he's my friend right?" He has flowers on his hands. Ang luma naman ng style niya! Lagi ko itong napapanuod sa movies eh!

"I... i miss you..." nakatitig lang siya saakin. "I miss you so much. I've been waiting for this moment to happen." Medyo pumiyok pa siya ng konti and he has a little teary eyes.

He is only 2 inches away from me now. He grew out his beard, wala siguro siyang time e shave iyon. He looked so matured and masculine now, parang hindi na siya ang keith na kilala ko.

Iniabot niya saakin ang flowers na dala niya. "Would you still accept me?"
