After I finished off eating dinner with Livia, I began to walk back to my room, with her help of course. I still had no idea where I was going. The dinner was really nice, nicer than I was expecting for an underground compound if I'm being perfectly honest. Livia help me get back to my room she showed me all the different passages and what coloured lines on the floor ment and where each different trail lead, I didn't understand most of it but I appreciated the effort all the same. Nice to have someone around here actually enjoyed my company, it wasn't something I was used to really. Nice to have someone around, to have a best friend, an opportunity I never thought I'd get the chance to experience. The whole way back Olivia and I laughed and joked about everything and anything we could think of, it was as though we just clicked, I've never felt this kind of Bond was the person before outside of my family karma I didn't know it was possible. It didn't really feel like this was real: I had a best friend. We were only about halfway to my room by Livia's estimations, when we were intercepted by Tori and Colt. They told Livia to leave me here because they needed to take me to another urgent meeting. Everything was urgent to these people, off we go again then. Did they ever stop to consider that after all my days of running I might not want to walk around all day, hmm! Apparently not, because we started walking immediately after they stole me away from my best friend. It was rather annoying that as soon as I got a best friend I was taken away from her, they really could be inconsiderate when they wanted to could these people.
I was getting bored of the constant concrete corridors that was all I ever saw whenever I had to walk around this place, I mean they could at least paint them or add some sort of decoration just to spice things up a bit. The constant grey got rather dull if that was all you ever saw. Finally, Tori and Colt stoped in front of a door that looks similar to the one yesterday, who knows it could be the same. They pushed it open to reveal that it was the same meeting room as yesterday, same wooden table in the middle and same at table to one side. This time however, it didn't appear that we were late as there were still some empty seats at the table and nobody had started any form of important conversation with the group.
I was lead over to the same place as yesterday forced to sit down under Colts stern gaze. It's annoyed me to see that Jove was sat directly opposite me, whoop de doo (that was sarcasm, just so you are aware). It took a while after that was eventually people began to trickle into the meeting room, some of them I recognised from before, some were completely alien to me, the three people sitting around me, however, seem to recognise them all. Tori had a rather laid back posture, implying that she wasn't intending to lead this meeting. Jove on the other hand, was sat on the edge of his seat watching the people enter the room with the keen interest of a rather portly bird of prey.
Shortly after, the meeting commenced and from what I could tell, not much what's happening full stop some urgent meeting this was, in the end I just zoned out until I heard a small beep next to me; Colt's watch had buzzed and when I glanced over I could see it was from a notification of a Holo message, whatever that was. He certainly turned Tory and whispered something to her, all while Jove was still talking about, whatever he he talking about, I still really had no idea, I don't think it helped that I had zoned out for the main bulk of the meeting but I was supposed to be attending and paying great attention to, what can I say, it was boring.
Tori suddenly stood up, stopping Jove in his tracks. Everybody turn to look at her, taking their focus off of Jove and his boring rambling. Thank goodness, it felt like my ears were about to drop off. Literally. Whatever Tori had to say, it had to be important based on her facial expression. Tori began to speak, silencing any mutters that have been going around the room.
"I have just received a hologram message from our spies on the inside, I believe they have important information for our cause if they need to contact us so urgently. Message for you all to see and hear."
Tori pressed a few buttons on her watch and a few seconds later a hologram appeared over the centre of the table, just like the one of Dr Mosheyev on the day I had arrived, this one however, was moving, and speaking for that matter, it was a hologram of two people I have never seen before, a man and a woman. The they were both around middling height with blonde hair and many other similarities so I assumed they must be related somehow. It was the man who began to speak first.
"Rebels, rebels do you read? This is Henry and Sammy reporting. Our cover has been blown so this is the last message we will be able to send, we believe we know what the enemy is planning. We have seen their new weapon: Apollo-X. What is a missile of mass destruction intended to help the Purge. The Purge is their biggest plan yet karma they have devoted every resource they have to this project so they will not fail by themselves, we have to stop them. If the purge succeeds they will...ZzZzz... And fire it upon on...ZzzzzzZz... There will be many, many casualties and...zzzzZz... Might not survive. After the purge, they plan to...zzZZzZ... And replace them with... ZzZZz."
A bullet whizzed past the head of the woman she quickly began to speak.
"We do not have much time left before they catch us I hope that you can stop information we have found. I hope it is enough to save...ZzzZz.
A bullet hot the woman in the head and she crumpled to the ground out of sight. The man, if you're worried and distraught at the death of his comrade, turned back to face the camera
"This is Henry over and out for the last time."
Just as the man was about to turn off his holo communicator, a bullet caught him in the side of the head, sending him to he ground, along with his communicator. Before any more information could be gleamed, play rough soled boot entered the view on the communicator and stomped viciously on it, sending the screen completely black. I had a feeling that was the last we would be hearing of the government's plans.
Everyone around the table look grave and forlorn but the death of the comrades and possibly friends. Tori spoke out of the silence, taking control and sorting things out.
"The funerals of Henry and Sammy Brown will be held 2 days from now. When this meeting is adjourned go and spread the word to all they died heroes, serving our cause to help everyone else and save them from an awful fate. If that is not a good reason to die I do not know one, they were good people and friends of many and will never be forgotten no matter how long we live, whether it be days or years, their memories shall not be lost. For now though, we must discuss the matters at hand, if we do not act they will have died for nothing. I say we strike tomorrow or the day after, depending on when we can rally our forces. Based on the limited information they could convey to us, this sounds urgent, more urgent than anything we have ever dealt with before. I say we act and take them down for good."
The room erupted into urgent conversation, from the snippets I could hear, some seemed to be with Tori and some against. It was a real mix of opinions. Suddenly, to silence all chatter, alarms started going off all around us. Everybody gasped and I heard someone whisper that these were the alarms to signal that there was an intruder in the compound, the only time he's alarms and ever been fired was on drills, never in a real scenario so most believed that this was a drill.
"My friends."
Everyone was shocked to hear Tori's voice call them to attention.
"Maybe a day when I first comes together to overthrow the government. When fate decides it needs to shift and that the same people do not have the right to rule anymore. There may be a day when the balance of power changes, but today is not that day."
With those words, a hissing filled the air, and the meeting room exploded.
