I watched the raindrops fall from the ominous gray sky, splattered on the car windshield, and evaporate as if they never existed in the first place. The small sprinkle turned into a raging storm in a matter of minutes. The once quiet pitter patter turned into a loud drumming on the car's windshield. My mom was driving me to swim team, like any other day. The traffic was pretty slow, but that was probably because everyone was getting out of work and school. "So, are you going to swim hard at practice today?" My mom asked, focusing her eyes on the road. "I'll try my best." I felt nervous butterflies in my stomach, even though I've gone to many practices for years. The car came to a stop as the green light turned red. I leaned my head on the window, feeling the chilly glass on my skin. I closed my eyes tiredly, listening to the windshield wipers robotic sound. Mom turned the corner as the red light finally turned green. As a tipsy truck driver spun into the wrong lane. My neck fell back way too quickly, causing a terrible snapping noise. The impact broke the car windows, and flipped the car over immediately. The sound of metal on the concrete road was like nails on a chalkboard. I felt bits of metal and glass dig into my skin, sparks from the road burnt my skin as well. The car stopped after sliding into many different cars. I saw a light above me, before I lost my consciousness. It became closer and closer as if it were about to engulf me. And then I saw nothing but darkness.
