"Babe, I miss you so much." I sighed as I held my phone close to my ear.
"Yeah, I miss you too. Can't wait to come back from tour." My boyfriend replied, a hint of sadness in his voice. "Look, baby I need to go. Ross got stuck in a slide again and they're calling me over."
"Oh, okay. I'll talk to you later then." I said, frowning at the sudden hurry of hanging up.
"I love you my Latina beauty." And with that he hung up.
I stood there, dumbfounded. Riker had never done that before, usually he'd let me reply before hanging up but not today. I decided to shrug it off, after all he might be tired of rocking on stage last night.
I walked around our lonely apartment, the absence of Riker was noticeable and it felt like I'd never get used to it. I looked around the living room, everything was all tidied up since I had nothing to do today so I just cleaned the house. It took less amount of time than when Riker was home since it's just only me and plus, I work all day so I mess that much. The sun was setting down, and I knew that another day without my love have passed, marking it sooner until we see each other. Watching the sunset always made me remember him and the evenings we used to just cuddle together and watch the sun going down to be then greeted by a velvet sky filled with stars.
I walked to the kitchen to prepare myself a cup of tea and blasted some music on. I danced around the kitchen counter as I sang along the lyrics and waited for the water to boil.
Oh! Excuse my manners! I haven't introduced myself yet. My name's Fernanda, but I go by Fer since it's way easier to pronounce. I'm 22 years old, I like cats and music. I work as a stylist in a hairdresser studio in California, where me and Riker live. Riker and I had been together for two years already, and I couldn't be happier with him.
I thought I'd date him. After all, I was just a simple girl doing my work on his sister's hair for an event.
After the water boiled, I made my tea and sat in the couch with a blue blanket wrapped around my body while I watched The Nightmare Before Christmas. As childish as it sounds, I just can't deny my love for that movie or any of Tim Burton's films, because all of them are great. It's just the plot of the stories and the scenery that gets me, it kinda gives this Gothic atmosphere and I just love it.
Later that night, I put on one of Riker's shirts and wore it as my pyjamas and let his essence drift me to sleep.

I groaned as I turned my alarm clock off. Time to go to work.
I slowly put my feet on the floor and forced myself to get up. Unlike Riker, I'm not a morning person at all. I checked my phone to see any messages or something and I found out I had two texts for my friends, Rena and Elle.
Wake up Fer! Remember we're meeting up at your lunch break today!
Rena xoxo
Morning! Can't wait to meet you today!
Elle xox
I smiled at the texts, my friends have been always like that; making sure that I wake up in time and reminding me stuff that we're doing during the day. Putting the phone down, I walked towards the bathroom to take a shower.
When I got out, I put on some dark skinny jeans and a blue shirt that hung loosely over my right shoulder, revealing my rose tattoo. I blow dried my hair and straightened it, making my red streaks pop out. I applied some foundation and concealer before I applied cat eye eye liner, mascara and some chap stick. I sprayed some perfume and I put on my blue stilettos before grabbing my bag, wallet and phone, and left the apartment.
