It's Not All Roses is in reference to how the writing business is, indeed, not all roses; but also a little wave at my chosen pen-name, Stephanie Rose.
Why Rose? Well, not only is it my favorite flower, but it's actually my middle name! I loved the flow of it when I was first testing out the waters as an author, and it stuck.
If you already know me, feel free to move on to the next chapter; but if you're new here, why don't you pull up a chair, grab a mug of coffee (or tea, if you prefer—or heck, why not a glass of wine), and throw a warm, cozy blanket over yourself? We've got so much to talk about!
I'll go over more in depth details later on, but for now, know that I'm a 35-year-old self-published author and Wattpad Star. I live in Northern Nevada, but my heart remains in Paris, France, where I lived for nearly twelve years. I've also lived in London, England, and in Ohio—but those are stories for other times, yeah?
What should you expect in this story?
A deeper look into my processes as a writer, for starters—and that includes my writing schedule, where/how I get started, the ideas that fuel my creativity (and where I get them from), the process of finding names/descriptions for characters, etc.
My own backstory/history as an author, and how I got here
Some behind-the-scenes information about my Wattpad stories, and possibly my self-published ones—character details, backstories you might not know about, insight on how I keep track of what everyone looks like, among other things!
Insight, advice, encouragement to other authors out there; those just starting out, or those still learning the process, like me!
Why should you read this?
Well, if you've ever had questions about how I come up with my stories, how I write them so fast, why I can never stop writing them, and how I manage to juggle so many things at once—these are answers I'll be giving little by little! If you've ever wondered about certain characters, why they are the way they are; wondered about their favorite colors or a detail they never shared about themselves; then this is the place to be!
And by reading this, you're showing me that there's interest in not only my books, but also in me, as a person. I do enjoy engaging with my readers, and it's nice to connect and see if we have common points. I also love to learn from my fellow authors (and also from readers) so I feel like this is a great place to get started.
