"My lady!!" Y/n shouted
*Y/n's pov*
"My lady!!" I shouted as soon as I saw Lady Ayaka coughing up blood
Chiyo also came rushing to Lady Ayaka's side
Chiyo's eyes were full of tears
Wasn't she the one who planned this?
"Lady Ayaka, I'm terribly sorry! I didn't know this would happen" Chiyo cries innocently
I looked at her, confused but called for help either way
"Somebody help! Lady Ayaka has been poisoned" I shouted while holding her head on my lap
Ayato barged in and saw Ayaka's body unconscious and weak
I saw Ayato's eyes go red and questioned
"Who prepared the tea that Ayaka drank!" Ayato shouted while drawing his sword out
Its done, he doesn't even care who the culprit is, he will execute the culprit without hesitation
Even if it's me.
I felt a pang in my heart but Thoma came to calm Ayato down
"My lord, please calm down" he said
"What do you mean calm down?! You were the one who prepared the tea for us! You were the one who poisoned Lady Ayaka!" Chiyo interrupted Thoma
I looked at Thoma in disbelief
Did he really?
Ayato had a confused look on his face and turned to face Thoma
Thoma kneeled infront of him
"My lord, I admit that I was the one who prepared it but I swear, I didn't poison it! Plus I have no gain on doing so!" Thoma said to Ayato
"Lock Thoma up in the dungeons, and put Chiyo and Y/n in house arrest" Ayato said coldly
"Tomorrow we will do the investigation" he continued
"For my little sister, bring her to her room and call every physician in Inazuma" he continued again
"If my sister doesn't make it out alive, I'll destroy Inazuma to ashes" he said while walking away
He didn't even spare a glance at me
I thought that he will maybe trust ne a little bit but I guess it's understandable, after all, it's his sister that he loved and cherished
I too don't want Lady Ayaka to disappear
As the guards dragged me to my room, I can only pray for Lady Ayaka to be safe
**The next day**
After Thoma was questioned early in the morning, it was my turn to be questioned
Ayato came in with his bodyguards and he started questioning everything that happened yesterday
After I told him everything he told his bodyguards to get out of the room and told them to leave us alone
The second they were out, Ayato hugged me and quietly sobs into my shoulders
"Im sorry Y/n, I know you were innocent but it's the procedures I had to follow and.. and Ayaka is the only precious family I have left and I don't want my effort in protecting her go to waste" Ayato cried
I held his head while he buried his head into my shoulders, though I've stuck with him for a while I've never seen him this vulnerable
I wiped his tears away and kissed his cheek assuring that everything is gonna be fine and the culprit will be revealed later on
Though I'm confident it's Chiyo, I can't say Thoma is 100% innocent either
Thoma is my beloved colleague and a trustworthy person
And it is true that he has no gain from assassinating Ayaka
But everyone had the right to be suspicious.
Ayato calmed down and went out of my room to investigate Chiyo but he brought me with him too
"You're gonna act as a witness" he said
I agreed and followed him to Chiyo's room
But once I opened her room's door, it was empty
Ayato and I panicked and ordered every servant to search for Chiyo
After it was confirmed that Chiyo wasn't in the estate, Ayato lost it
"Shitshitshit, I knew it! I fucking knew it!" Ayato shouted while running to meet Lady Kujou
Lady Kujou was very surprised to hear about Lady Ayaka's poisoning and ordered her guards to search for Chiyo
Later on, the whole Inazuma fell into chaos because of Lady Ayaka's poisoning
Even the esteemed head of the shrine maiden, Guuji Yae helping us on finding Chiyo
