That Night
•••It was probably the best night of my life, the music they were playing seemed to be every song they knew I could resist to bump and grind to.
It's not like I had never been to Spice, the only club in town. But something about that night, the drinks tasted even more enriching, the lights seemed to sparkle on me. It was like it was meant to be, fate can be cruel.
It was exactly 11:36 pm when I decided to take a seat in a booth near my previous dancing spot, my head was pounding and my legs felt like jelly- yet I still had enough in me to want to dance even more. The rest of the evening went on like so:
"Oh my god, you look a drag queen." Colette exclaims as she slides in across from me.
I smile and shake my head, letting my wrist fall onto the tabletop making a loud clanking sound as my charm bracelet makes its way down too.
"Thanks Collie, I appreciate your very kind words."
She chuckles and crosses her legs under the table, gazing out to the dance floor I forgot she was staring at me till she begins to speak again.
"I'm on my way out, Dallas and I are meeting to get coffee. Care to join?"
"Nah-" I press my lips into a thin line, turning my attention back to her "-his first day is Monday, right?"
Colette smile and nods, her plain brown eyes now jumping to life.
"Can't wait to meet the guy, tell him I said hi." I smile and watch as she nods.
Colette grabs her black clutch and pushed herself up from the leather seat, with a quick wave she hurries off out the golden-brown wooden door.
Colette had met this Dallas boy over winter break when she went to Colorado to ski, they bumped into each other in a cafe, had a vacation fling and long story short she found him a week ago in another cafe and it turned out that he moved New Jersey.
I sigh and lie my head down on the sticky black table, the cold surface cooling down my sweaty face.
Normally, I'd be all for leaving social places but something was holding me back.
My fingers drummed on the table, my eyes became unfocused as I began to daydream about anything I could, I've began to appreciate the brain I've grown- knowing that I and only I can read it. It's like my own personal safe, that no one else can open unless I said so. Boy, am I odd.
A sideways figure suddenly begins to walk towards my lifeless body, my eyes finally re-adjust as I lift my head up from the table.
A very attractive male appears in front of my very eyes, his jawline was one of those sharp enough to cut a block of cheese. His lips were pink and puffy, he looked like he had been dancing with at the same vigorous pace as me.
"Hello there, pretty lady." he purred.
"Hey." I wave slightly.
He slides into the seat across from me, his eyes never move from mine.
"What's your name?" he purses his lips.
"Clara, Cara, Cece- it's your choice."
"Cece is a bit of a kinky name, don't you think?" he raises a thick eyebrow, a smirk forms on his beautiful face.
"It is what it is." I simply reply.
"Ah, I see-" he leans forward "-playing hard to get are we?"
"Maybe." I smile smugly and lean back into the booth.
"I'll bite, but only because you're the only girl in who isn't half naked or hardcore grinding on everyone she sees."
I chuckle as I flip my soft brown hair over my shoulder.
"So, Cece, how 'bout we get out of here and talk some place quiet." the mystery boy says as he bites his lip, I assume, to make himself look more seductive.
As you can tell, instead of letting myself fall all over sexy guys, I usually point out everything they're attempting to do- a defense mechanism against my inner female fluster.
But tonight, something about my defense mechanism, made this boy seem even more irresistible.
"I don't know, you could be a rapist." I raise an eyebrow.
"It's not rape if you like it." he winks and stands from his seat.
It's at that moment, as soon as I took his offered hand, that my one night mistake began...
