~Sorry if it's bad, I'm still a bit new to writing😅
Viondra dismounted her mother's Mudsdale and returned her to her ball before bolting towards the front door. She rapidly knocked on the door, barely being able to contain her excitement.
It was V's birthday today and her mom requested she took a ride on Mudsdale for a bit so she could prepare everything. After an hour of exploring and playing with Pokémon, V came back unable to control herself.
Mom finally opened the door just a bit after what seemed like forever with a disheveled look on her face.
Once she saw her daughters face she opened it to welcome her home."Hey mom, you look exhausted,", V observed. "Did something happen while I was gone?.".
"Oh yeah, you'll see why in a minute." Mom replied.
As V was entering the dining room, she smelled the most sweet scent followed by a more spicy one. Cake and Food? You really outdid yourself mother.
Sitting at the table, V looked at her plate where a plenty of pot roast lay. She could barely hold the drool coming out of her mouth from the smell. She immediately dug into her meal while her mother left to do something.
After absolutely destroying the entire plate, V cut two slices of cake for herself. As she was about to dig in, she heard a sharp squeak.
"Rattata! Rat! Rat!"
Oh, it was just Reese, mom's rattata. He must have hopped onto one of the chairs just now. He was looking at V's cake with hungry eyes. She looked between the cake and the rat Pokémon before cutting a good chunk and tossing it to him. V concludes that he indeed enjoyed it as he devoured it whole.
As Reese scurried away, mom entered the room again but this time...With a box? Placing the box on the table, she clapped her hands together before leaning over it.
"Okay! When you're finished eating, you can go ahead and open your present." She explained. "Unfortunately, I won't be here to watch you open your gift. I have to go to my workplace since there's been an emergency. Text me what you think of it!"
V watched as she walked out the door. Looking at the present she noticed the leopard print on the wrapping. Her excitement was coming back again.
Finishing her cake as soon as possible, V placed her dish in the sink and snatched up the gift. She ran upstairs to her room and plopped on her bed. Untying the ribbons and opening the top up, she removed all the papers used to protect what was inside.
A sharp gasp escaped V's lips at what she saw. A Luxury Ball with a note attached to it. She ignored the note immediately and hurried to open the ball, excited to see what kinda of Pokémon her mother got her.
When the Pokémon was released, V cried out in pain as she was immediately hit with a scratch across the face and a sharp hiss.
"HISS! LOIN! LOIN!"
V jolted off her bed, backing into a corner as she tried to focus her sight on the creature that struck her.
A Purrloin? Wait no...A shiny Purrloin?! She thought.
Her shock was Immeasurable. Shiny Pokémon were so rare and yet her mother still managed to get one! V would have to thank her profusely when she got back. But first, she would need to calm the hostile Pokémon down.
"Hiya there, Purrloin!," It only hissed in return. " I know you don't know me but I think my mom got you as a gift for me..?".
The cat Pokémon stood on two legs to cross its arms and rudely look away. V silently scoffed at that.
"Okay, so you're a little sassy one," She noted, "What do I have to do to earn your trust?"
The Purrloin looked back at V with slanted eyes. It seemed to be sizing her up. The cat hopped off of her bed and onto the area of her desk where she kept snacks. V watched it suspiciously as it rummaged through the drawer. After a minute of looking, the Pokémon pulled out a pack of airhead xtremes. It hopped back on the bed, gave V the pack and opened its mouth.
"You...want me..to feed you this?"
"Purr."
"Are you serious right now?"
"Purrloin!"
"Okay fine, geez!"
V pulled out one strip and placed it into the Purrloin's mouth. It closed it's mouth and started chewing on it happily. It opened it's mouth for V to put my another one in and repeated until the whole pack was gone. V ended up getting milk for the Purrloin as well.
Sitting on the bed next to the Pokémon, V looked at it hoping for it to stop being so grumpy.
"I fed you and gave you milk. Are you gonna start being nicer now?" She asked.
Purrloin looked at V thoughtfully for a moment.
"Hmm...meow"
"I'm guessing that means 'we'll get there'?"
Purrloin gave a small nod.
"Nya"
V gave a small smile back. She then look at the box with the unread note still in it. Grabbing it, she began to read. Purrloin snuck behind her to look at it too.
Happy Birthday, Viondra!
I know I won't be there to see you open your wonderful gift but, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did catching it. Now before you open the poke ball, this Purrloin is a very sassy one. She put up a real fight when I was attempting to catch her. So be cautious and make sure to open it from a safe distance to avoid getting scratched. I feel like the two of you will make great partners once you get used to each other. I would give it a couple of days or so. I know how much you wanted to go explore the world and become champion so I decided, "Why not?". I hope you enjoy your gift!
Love, Mom :)V deadpanned at the note.
"Ya know, maybe I should have read the note first"
"Loin."
"Ohh well, it's too late now."
V crumpled the note up and tossed it in the trash along with the box. Purrloin yawned before curling up on the end of the bed. V turned off the lights before getting under the covers.
"A few days huh," she pondered.
I guess I can wait that long
