This is a good draft, but may still have some typos and may be needed to be edited.

I ran away from my mistakes. I started doing stuff that I shouldn't be doing. Instead of telling my dad that, I moved in with my mom. I told dad that mom needed me; dad was upset that I was moving in with mom. Now here I am in World History, dreading life.

The bell rings. I'm quickly gathering my stuff and put my chair away, and then I rush into the hall of busy, eager people trying to get to their next class.

My next class is Basic Literature, the introduction class to Literature. After that I have lunch, Music Appreciation, and Dramatic Arts. My class is starting short stories, we have to write them then let another peer read them and give their input, after that we revise the story and hand in to the teacher. Katey Faucett looks over at my work, when she's done, she hands it back and looks at me, "It's good," she says.

Mom picks me up after school, as we always did all week.

"How was it?" Mom asks, as I get in the car.

"Ok, maybe we should move again,"

"We are not moving again just because you can't fit in,"

"It's not like I don't try,"

"Of course not. Anyways, we're having dinner at 6, we are going to that little restaurant on West with Marshall,"

"Okay."

"Any homework?"

"Somewhat,"

When I get home, I read over the recent letter Pierson sent me:

Gretchen,

I hope you are doing well. I miss you. It's not the same here. Last night, we went to that movie about those foster homes. I really liked it. Dad said you can visit us soon, I wish you will. Anyways, just wanted to check in. I hope school is doing all right. And mom is treating you well.

Sincerely yours,

Skipper

I know she means well, but we weren't exactly speaking when I moved to live with mom. I mean, Skipper tried calling me, but settled down with writing me brief updates. Skipper never been close with me but she adores me, after I said I was moving in with mom she went ballistic.

To get it out of my system, I decided to call Skipper.

I dial dad's number and Jeanie, dads now girlfriend, answers;

"Hello?" Jeanie asks.

"Jeanie? Hi it's me Gretchen."

"Oh, hi. Your dads not home,"

"I know. I wanted to speak to Pierson,"

"Well, she has some friends over but I can see if she can speak to you"

"Thanks,"

"One minute, Gretchen, okay?"

About 2 minutes later Skipper is on the phone with me.

"Gretchen?"

"Hi Skipper."

"Is everything okay?"
