0502  -  You Found Me

Taehyung opened the door to the familiar house. Everything was still the same; she kept it exactly like how it had been when he had left 6 years ago.

He went straight to the bedroom. The door was unlocked and Wheein was sitting there on the bed, her eyes looking out the window.

"Wheeinie." Taehyung called her name but she didn't turn around.

"Baby I'm back. I'm finally home." He said louder and walked closer to her but she didn't move an inch.

He stopped when he was standing in front of her and squatted down. She was sitting still and looking unfocused at the space before her. He took her hands into his and gently squeezed them.

"Wheeinie, it's me, Tae." He patiently said to her again.

Finally she shifted her gaze to him. Looking into his eyes were her teary eyes; she repeated what he had just said, "Tae, it's you."

He smiled, hoping to see her dimple when she smiled back but the emotions in her eyes changed from longing to angriness very quickly.

"Where were you? Where you been? Why'd you have to wait to find me?"

"I'm sorry, I'm really sorry baby."

She cried harder. Her voice broke when she asked him, "Did you love me?"

His heart clenched. The last thing he wanted was her doubting his love, but what rights did he have to expect the opposite? How could a man who had left his girl waiting all those years without any explanation dare to think that she could ever believe in him again? Even though he had left with hope that he could come back as a better man for her, or at least she could find happiness without him, he didn't deserve anything from her.

But he still needed to tell her the truth, "I've always been in love with you."

"Then why did you leave?"

He was taken aback, "Because... Because I want to be better... for you."

"Don't use me as an excuse. All I know is you left and never said a word to me for years." She growled.

A tear rolled down his cheek as he said, "I had missed you. I had wanted to find you but I couldn't. Please forgive me." Then he started to cry uncontrollably.

Her eyes softened immediately when she saw his tears as if everything had just been an act. She sighed and reached out her hand to caress his tear-soaked face.

"You found me. Just a little late." She whispered; her voice sounded like it was coming from somewhere really far away from him.

Right when he opened his mouth to say something, there was a knock on the door, then Yoongi peaked his head in. Taehyung quickly sat on the bed with his back facing the entrance.

"Who were you talking to?" Yoongi asked.

Taehyung only turned his head to the side when answering his hyung, "I was just on the phone. Is everyone here now?"

"Yes, let's go, Tae. Shouldn't let her family wait, they've been brokenhearted already."

"Please give me a moment. I'll be right out."

Yoongi nodded and left Taehyung alone in the room with a framed picture of Wheein in his hand. He put the frame on the bedside table next to the black roses that had already been there.

She didn't like roses, he would have to come back with magnolias later. It might not suit the mood but that was what she liked. Then he pulled out a ring from his pocket to put next to the photo frame.

"Wheein, I'll find you again. This time I'll be on time. This time you won't have to wait for long."

Taehyung wiped the tear stains on his face and walked away, closing the door behind him.

This time he wouldn't let her down again.
