"What in the world

"What in the world..?" Mark did a double-take. He had to, or else he wouldn't understand why Jeno and Jaemin were sitting at a table in the canteen with Huang Renjun. It was just so foreign.

"I think it'll be a common occurrence," a softer voice murmured behind the beta-like alpha. Jisung appeared out of nowhere and Mark didn't admit that he inwardly leapt out of his skin.

He turned around fully to face the new arrival, also hushing his own voice. "Those three?"

"Yup." Jisung peered over Mark's shoulder from where they stood at the opposite end of the canteen. They weren't obviously observing because the area was fairly crowded.

It was strange, but it wasn't unbelievable. It was just that Mark had only seen the three of them interact one time and it was when the Tweedledum and Tweedledee pair ab-sailed out the detention window. Well.

They moved to find their own table to sit at.

From another angle of the canteen, the two alphas were also being watched. "It's strange seeing them alone together," Donghyuck commented, eyes dancing between Mark and Jisung. "I wasn't sure if they hang out when we aren't around."

Chenle agreed. "Apart from when they came to see me at the bar, yeah. I getcha. It's cute though. I know Mark has his other friends, but it feels like Jisung hasn't spoken to another alpha in a while. And Jaemin and Jeno are hanging around like a bad smell these days." Of course, the simile meant no harm. He liked the pair. Jaemin had good vibes and Jeno often had him in stitches over funny stories. "I suspect that Jisung doesn't talk to his old friends anymore because of me. Don't you think?" It came out indifferently but he certainly didn't feel that way.

What could Donghyuck say? Chenle had a much deeper understanding of the alpha than him, even though perhaps Donghyuck was able to read him better. He wasn't illiterate in the art of understanding body language, so the behaviour between Chenle and Jisung was full of interest. "I don't think you could totally understand what went down without knowing for sure."

"True, true."

"But am I seeing things, or is Renjun in high demand these days?"

Chenle's gaze shifted to where his friend was looking, catching sight of the spectacle that Mark and Jisung were also 'subtly' ogling. What a scene. He barely knew anything about Huang Renjun — in fact he'd say they had a long way to go before they could truly connect on the level that he and Donghyuck had, but there was no denying the feelings he had when he saw the damaged omega handling the situation so well. A smile spread across his face. "Well, look at that. He's remarkable."

"I think he's a lot happier to have friends again than he lets on." Donghyuck was all smiles as well. His new-found physics coach was finding his feet once more after a long period on the ground. "Did he say if his parents let him come on the school trip?"
