Cotton Candy

Cotton candy in one hand
Hope and aspirations in the other
The small town boy of seventeen
Walked with his small town girlfriend merrily
On the foot path overlooking the pond
At the busy street on a busy night

He Pulls up his tightfit cotton jeans
And inshirts one last time to perfection
As a bunch of guys with colourful spikes
and cool sunglasses stare from a distance
Behold the big brother has arrived
With a confidence known only to the ones who made it in life

The couple hold each other's hands and smile
A smile that read 'Till death do us apart'
Fully knowing it takes only a side look from a middle aged uncle
To shyly let go of each other

The excitement lingers at every jumkha stall they stop at
They touch every last piece
As the vendor briefly roots for the small town guy
Only till she finds the jumkhas either too big or not trendy enough
But it is more than a sale isn't it?
These are Moments frozen in time.
