Chapter fourteen: Possible rebound

Ariana's POV

A few days have passed and we're at school. Y/n isn't here yet but she will be soon. Liz and Matt aren't happy with me.

"She's the rebound Ari." Matt says.

"She's not the rebound Matt." I say.

"Oh yeah? A few weeks since you and satan broke up. She was the first person you go to. You kiss, two pretty intense makeout sessions at both of your houses. And now you're dating. Literally not even two weeks after you and satan spawn split up. You've rebounded the Princess." Liz says.

I just stay quiet. Then my phone buzzes. It's Y/n.

Traffic. Might be a lil late

I put my phone in my pocket and look at Matt and Liz.

"Look, i know you're destroyed after Abigal and what she did. Cos i know i would be too. But you cant rebound the Princess, who more than clearly likes you. Because that's not fair on her. I know you wanna move on as fast as you can from Abigail and granted, your relationship only lasted a few months but you're not gunna be able to move on that fast. Yes rebounding the Princess would make it easier on you because she'll take your mind away from her but you've just gotta let time do its thing. Rebounding the Princess will fuck up a friendship that's damn near impossible to have." Liz says.

I bite my lip and fiddle with my fingers. They sit next to me and hug me.

"But i like Y/n." I say.

"We know." They say.

"But you cant do that. It's not fair on either of you. You're gunna break each others hearts. Especially when you're over Abigail. I mean you're gunna get over Abigail and find someone you like more than Y/n and it's gunna break her heart and then yours because you no longer have that friendship or relationship." Liz says.

I just sigh. Eventually, Y/n shows up.

"Can you tell her?" I ask Liz.

She nods.

"Tell me what?" Y/n asks.

"Just come with me a minute."

"O-okay. Ari are you okay?" Y/n asks.

I nod. Liz pulls Y/n to the side and explains everything to Y/n. She looks at me and then back to Liz. They soon walk back over.

"Ariana can i talk to you?"

I go with Y/n to the fence.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Y/n asks.

"Cos i was scared. I didn't wanna hurt you and see the look on your face." I say.

She hugs me. I hug back.

"I had a slight feeling i might've ben the rebound. It's okay. And i do still like you. And I'll wait for you to be over her." Y/n says.

"No that's not fair on you." I say.

"I'm not gunna wind up liking anybody else in however long it takes you to get over that bellend y'know. I think i figured out i liked you in the first few days." Y/n says.

I feel myself going bright red.

"And listen, we can still hang out. I'm not bothered at all." Y/n says.

I really do hope she means that.
