Krescent POV..

"Don't stay out too late, Kres! You know I'll worry!" My mother shouted out of the door after I'd walked out with a smile. "Ma I'll be fine!" I yelled back to her giving her reassurance before exiting the black gate in front of our house. My mom gave me a warm smile before beginning to close the door, but eventually I heard the small *thud* of the door being closed. It was about.. 7:00 PM? Yeah, I think that was the time before I left. It's getting a little dark and I can understand why my mom would worry so much, but still.. I am 17. I am almost a young adult, she needs to let go a little bit.. she worries entirely too much if I'm being honest.

After about 12 minutes of walking, I wonder if I should text my best friend, Jacob. He's kind of popular around school, considering he's well known for his curly hair that he always seems to keep in a nice and neat Afro. He's kind of tall, around 6'0-6'2, but he doesn't tower over me too much. I may be 5'10, but I'm not sure. He also has vibrant light brown eyes, and a nice smile. His personality is amazing, honestly. He's very goofy, loving, caring, and laid back, not to mention unbelievably hilarious. We've literally grown up with each other and have been friends for as long as I can remember, and I wouldn't trade that guy for anything in the world. He's basically my other half.. I don't know what I'd do without hi-..

Right then my phone rings, and who is it? Jacob? No. It's my mom. I roll my eyes a bit and question myself in my mind on if I should answer it or not.. I guess. I answer the call, and my mom is already over doing it. " Where are you Krescent?? Have you made it there yet? It's getting late! I don't want you walking in the dark! Wait.. nigga, is this your voice mail??" my mother finishes, and I grin a bit as she ends her small panic with that casual comment. "Mom I am fine, I am almost there. I'm safe." I try to reassure her once more, but she simply sighs and says, "Okay, just call me when you get there, alright?" My phone vibrates against my ear lightly, stating that I am receiving an incoming call from Jacob.

Ha.. he saved the day again, I gotta remember to thank him when I get to his place. "Mom, I'm getting another call, I'll talk to you later." She begins speaking again about my safety, but I click over hastily and answers the call. "Hello?" ---Silence--- "Krescent.. dude.. go home." Jacob's voice full of worry and at a very low tone. "Jake?.. Bruh what's wrong?" I say to him, my voice almost weak from fear because he has never sounded this worried. "It's Zion's boyfrie-" *Click*..*Beep..Beep..Be-* Fuck.. the line went dead. I stopped walking and looked up from my phone to see a group of guys coming around the corner of the street ahead. With no hesitation, I make a break for the alley, and one of the dudes had shouted in my direction. Give me a break. I run track though.. it shouldn't be easy to catch me.. However, these are straight up niggas I am running from, just great.

I get towards the end of the alley that I was running down, trying to get away from the group of guys.. Almost there.. It's like one of those moments in the movies where they are almost toward the end of the tunnel.. and BAM! Something happens. Just my luck.. I get to the very end of the alley and some guys from the group cut me off both ways.. They have me backed up against the wall, a few feet from a dumpster that belongs to the small restaurant next to the building I am trapped up against. Unfortunately, the restaurant is closed today anyways, no yelling for help wouldn't do much, just embarrass myself. The small gang of.. "thugs" , in my definition, emotionally traumatized delinquents that just need a hug from a group of bears, opens up slowly, with their "leader" approaching me as my back is against the side of a brick building. "Well, well, well.. what do we have here?" he smirks with his braces showing and dimples glimmering in the light.. I think to myself before looking him in the face.. That voice.. so familiar.. Zion's boyfriend?.. Who could that thot be dating now?.. I cannot stand that girl. She's stuck up and thinks the world revolves around her. Not to mention she is rude and doesn't care about anyone else but herself. Let me stop thinking about her ass before I start subconsciously doing facial expressions related to the way I feel about that bitch. I look up a bit towards the leader to see him smirking.. Hell nah bruh.. It's.. ????????
