*Author's note: hey guys, I apologize for the long wait, vacation and mind blanks happened to keep coming around this summer so it felt like that I was taking forever with these stories. But I managed to get a chapter for y'all. Without further ado, here's the next part of the dynamic duo! If you forget about any of the characters let me know. Enjoy! 😄While a few more minutes of the business conversation between Jerry and his boss passed by, Tom, who was right outside the office, was frequently tapping his foot in a nervous pace.
He's never felt so anxious about anything like this before.
It was all very new to him.
And frankly, a different experience to deal with.
He was so used to being back at the mansion doing training work or becoming a personal messenger for his own boss, that lately, the calm silence was becoming too tense for him.
Once the office door finally opened, he sighed in relief as Jerry waved goodbye to his boss.
"Thanks, Mr. Rogers. I'll be sure to send you my full rough draft by the end of Friday night." Jerome said with a tone full of determination.
"Haha. That'll be great, Jerome. I have full confidence in you. Just be safe now, you hear?" Rogers said with a rare friendly smile on his face and waved back.
"Sorry for making you wait, so long. Are you ready?" Jerry asked while he turned to face Tom with a smile so bright and excited.
"Yeah, we can go." Tom said with a softer expression his face.
He didn't know whether he should smile or laugh more around him.
Because the little guy's personality was so bold and ambitious.
It was almost too cute to resist.
The two were about to leave together until yet again, Tom got pulled over to the side, by this time, Jerry's boss for yet another 'friendly' advice.
"Ah ah. Hold it. I need you to listen to me very carefully. I don't know who you are, but I'm gonna trust that you will keep Jerome in line. However, if I suspect that you're nothing like what you say you are, I'm coming after you. Got it?" Rogers warned in growling tone so frightening, that it almost made Tom jump out of his skin.
"Y...yes sir." Tom sputtered out in fear.
"Good. Now you better get going, then. And remember, I got my eyes on you." Rogers said with the classic 'two fingers to the eyes and back' movement as Tom slowly nodded his head in agreement before quickly scurrying away and walked out of the building in a snap.
Once he met up with Jerry outside, they talked about their next destination and got into their cars to drive up towards the next possible key evidence for the case, the one financial department that stores all the money and transactions, A.K.A the banks.
Luckily for them, Jerry's other friend Cuckoo happened to be an accountant for the company of Chase Bank, which centers a lot of the main cities in the state.

When they got to the building, they parked their cars and walked inside.
The lobby of the place had reddish brown wallpaper with a small waiting room area and long cashier-like desk that was full of receptionists who assist each representatives of the company.
Jerry walked up causally to one of front desk windows and signed himself in.
"Hi there. I'm here to see Jamie Crawford. Is he available to talk to for a moment? Tell him it's Jerome Rodriguez from college." Jerry announced him, causally.
