Chapter ii

I slinked down the halls of Northbay high school trying to avoid Misty, the devil reincarnated, and her little clique. The walls were painted baby blue and the lockers were an ugly purplish greenish color.from what I could hear I was the only one using this hallway, it was the back one, and the farthest from my class. the dim lights gave the hallway that haunted creepy look but after two years here I learned to get used to it. I had to get to gym class because if I missed another day my mom wouldn't blame it on the break up anymore. after rounding the corner, which would bring me to safety, I came face to face with the she-devil herself.
" Look who it is Ariana,"she said tapping her blonde friends shoulder. Ariana briefly looked at me before turning fully around and giving me a smirk.
"It's that b*tch was dumped by Alec".
I tried to stay silent seeing as another trip to the principle would get me expelled.
"Yeah and she also punched Fiona in the face" Ariana said stupidly doing her signature bobble head nod. Misty rolled her eyes taking a step towards me. I couldn't take it anymore plus her B.O was really messing with my nose.
"How about you shut up and go take a shower, your B.O. is practically killing my nose."She looked embarrassed before moving away to go search through her bag . I met up with my galfriend Lexy before heading out of the changing room.
"Hey lady, what took you so long to get here?"
"Long way, then miss annoying. Hey, at least I'm here."
" True" she said with a giggle.
Lexy is a short girl stopping at 5'0 with short curly blondish hair and glasses.
We walked into the gym laughing at something she said when a ball came flying towards my head knocking me off my feet. I whipped my head around looking for the culprit. Misty was smirking ate standing by the volleyball station.i began walking towards her when someone cut in, stopping me in my path.
"Hey Marley"
"What?" I said looking up at the familiar face. Ashton was blonde with piercing blue eyes a geeky smile on his face.
"I just wanted to say hi" he reached his hands out expecting a hug.
"Hi, now move out of the way." I pushed his chest, nudging him out of the way.
"I also am here to stop you from getting expelled". He gave me his lopsided grin .
"Fine," I said giving up" but next time, don't stop me. I gave her one final evil eye before turning around and heading towards Lexy. The rest of class included me purposely spiking the ball at Misty's head causing her to cry, and me having to take a 'time out' on the bleachers. The rest of school went by in a blur boring classes and not so nice stares.
I left the building and headed towards my dark green truck sitting in the grass under a tree. I almost got suspended from using the parking spot but then my family just paid them off and no one cares . When I arrived Lexy stood there leaning against my truck playing on her phone.
" What took you so long?" She said climbing into the passenger side.
"I have Mr.Jenkins for science"
"Oh, oh yeah you told me that."
"Yup" I said nodding my head. I yanked the door open and climbed in slamming the door behind me. Lexy cranked up the music and started singing along, but for the most part we didn't talk. Once we got home she grabbed her bag from out of the back and we walked into the house.
"Hey Ama"
"Hey Marley, how was school?"
"Good. We are going to a party tonight"
"Just be home by one"
We walked upstairs into my room and plopped our stuff down.
"Your mom is so cool" she said taking out her makeup bag.
"You say that every time you come over,"
"That's because," she paused looking at the bare wall"she is awesome." she finished whispering awesome.
"You are sooo weird" I said laughing. The rest of the hour was spent laughing over a wide range of things and getting ready. In the end I ended up in black jeans ,and a crop top with a ponytail,and she wore her big sweater and a skater dress with 'Tims'. We walked downstairs and I quickly said bye to my Ama walking into the garage.
I sat in the passenger seat and watched as Lexy pulled the chair closer and closer to the steering wheel so her feet could touch.
"ARE YOU REAAAAADY!" She yelled drumming on the dashboard. I just turned away laughing at her dumb joke. She giggled and pulled out of the garage stating down the road. when we pulled up the stop sign she plugged in her phone and blasted Fire burning by Sean Kingston, singing along. I rolled my eyes at her nerdyness, and turned towards the window.
The party was at Ashton's house so I brought an extra set of clothes just in case I was pushed into the pool, just like Every Other Time. I got out and slammed the door walking towards the jam packed house.
"Wait up" Lexy said running up to me and grabbing my wrist. The last time we came to a party she got lost and ended up getting harassed by some hobo who wandered in.
We walked into the house, already music was blasting and people were grinding against each other. knowing where Ashton would be I walked out the back Dior onto the deck looking for him. Lexy's grip tightened on my wrist when I heard her gasp.
"What's wrong?" I said turning towards her. Her face hade gone paler and she looked as though she had just seen a ghost. I turned in looked in the direction she was faced, and that's when I saw it. He still looked the exact same, hazel eyes, tall, and even had the same haircut from before. He spotted me and walked towards me, a small red head in tow. Ashton somehow ended up ext to me grinning at them. I looked up into Alec's eyes, tears beginning to form when he smiled, like full on bright white, dinggg, kind of smile.
"Hey Lene, how have you been?"
I took a deep breath holding up my fists.
"You b*stard"I said my fist urging to connect with his face.
"Now, now Lene calm dow"
That's when I did it my right fist flew past my face striking him in the nose, soon followed by my left which got him under the chin. Everyone around me gasped, as I stood my chest heaving. I felt someone pull me away from him by my wrist and I was thankful. I never wanted to see him again.
