Warnings: Yandere themes, mentions of Childe/Reader in Zhongli's part

Though you may have first been annoyed by his tendency to forget his wallet, Zhongli's heartfelt compliments, as well as the generally pleasant atmosphere he brings, makes up for it. He's knowledgeable in many areas, and you find that the quality of the drinks you mix skyrockets after trying out his advice. He has a frequent habit of gifting rare and expensive herbs, tea leaves, and other ingredients for you to use in your drinks. For a man who never brings money with him, you often wonder how on earth he managed to get his hands on such items. It's all acquired through legitimate means, he tells you; still, he won't tell you what those means are.

Depending on how observant you are, you may or may not notice how much calmer things get after Zhongli becomes a regular. Fights between drunkards are now few and far between, and everyone is on their best behavior. Rude customers are rare, and when they do show up, you often never see them again. No longer do you have to worry about getting hit on while you mix your drinks. It's nice, peaceful, even.

It was, anyway.

Childe was a special case; even in the face of a god, he wasn't intimidated. It seems as though he never uses his head, preferring to let his fists and crotch do all the thinking instead. Zhongli hoped it wouldn't be a problem, that you'd reject the man without a second thought. But you didn't. In hindsight, this was expected. Childe was charismatic and handsome, his only flaw being his ruthlessness; for someone who didn't know about his Harbinger status, it was only natural you would fall for him.

Zhongli didn't know why he felt the way he did whenever he looked at the two of you, happily chatting away. The feeling made him avoid your tavern for a bit. Though his absence didn't last long, he soon found himself craving to see you again. It was then that he realized what he was feeling; jealousy. It all made sense to him now. And as much as Zhongli liked stopping by your tavern, it would, unfortunately, have to close down. Permanently.

It's a shame, but you can't exactly run a business after the owner has gone missing.
