When Ash woke up the next morning, Gabriel was still asleep. She snuck into the bathroom without waking him up to finally take the shower she had wanted to take last night. The motel bathroom was not particularly nice, with cracked tiles, a weird yellowish tinge to the tub, and a shower curtain that didn't even extend the full length of the shower, but it didn't matter; the water felt heavenly as it hit her skin.
She wasn't sure how much time had passed when she finally stepped out of the shower, dried herself off, and threw on the cheap souvenir t-shirt she was using as a dress, but by the time she did, Gabriel was awake and dressed. Upon seeing her, he took one of the granola bars he bought last night and tossed it at her.
"Eat and then we'll go."
There was something off about his tone. He seemed irritated.
"What's wrong?" she asked.
"Nothing."
"You're mad at me," Ash guessed.
Gabriel sighed. "I'm not mad at you."
"You're mad about us being chased?"
"No."
"You're mad in general?"
Gabriel sighed again, realizing that Ash wasn't going to drop it. "I'm mad at thinking about Alexander using you like that."
Ash looked at Gabriel, stunned.
"He didn't use me Gabriel. I used him."
Gabriel shook his head.
"Oh okay...I get it," Ash said, irritated. "Even after I've tied you up, drugged you, seduced you, you still think I'm some innocent, dainty little flower. What will it take Gabriel? Should I wear more make-up?"
"No."
"Wear low-cut tops and skirts that show my ass?"
"No."
"Screw a bunch of strangers?"
"No!"
"Then what Gabriel?"
Gabriel was silent, but now his subtle frustration had turned into clearly visible anger.
"Fuck me," Ash told him.
"What?"
"Right here, right now. Show me your worst."
Gabriel shook his head. "I'm not thinking clearly...I'm angry. This isn't a good time."
"I think that makes it the perfect time. Take out your anger on me Gabriel. I'm a big girl. I can handle it."
"You can't."
"Then prove to me I can't," Ash replied, staring into his eyes with anger of her own.
Gabriel stood up and walked towards her menacingly. "You have no idea what you're asking for."
