"Stiles?" Brett called out. He had agreed to play with the fox but he didn't expect him to bolt as soon as he opened the door. He heard a yip as the fox peeked his head out from behind the log. "There you are. You'd better run Little Fox. Otherwise I'll catch you easily," he teased before shifting.

Stiles yipped and scurried through the trees jumping from the trunk of one to the trunk of the other and then jumped up onto a low branch just as the wolf came running. Stiles flicked his tail and watched the wolf follow his scent. Stiles loved playing tricks and it was so rare that they both got to shift. Stiles's fox needed to play and Brett was always willing.

Speaking of Brett, he had yet to find him. Stiles was debating giving away his hiding spot when the wolf's eyes snapped up. Stiles yipped and Brett responded with a playful growl. The fox jumped down and scurried under a bush towards the stream but Brett was hot on his trail. Stiles however stopped abruptly just at the edge forcing Brett to adjust in order to avoid running into him but he over corrected and tumbled into the water.

Stiles rolled over squealing in laughter at the now drenched wolf who was not finding the situation nearly as funny as Stiles was. So he pounced and landed with his front paws bracketing the fox in. Stiles froze and then smiled, pawing at the wolf's snout. Brett couldn't help but smile back and he nuzzled the fox before stepping back and doing a full body shake to rid himself of the remaining water.

Stiles squeaked and darted away with an annoyed huff. How dare Brett get his pretty fur all wet. He flicked his tail in annoyance and stuck his nose up in the air. Brett chuffed and walked over to the fox lowering himself to the ground. He knew the fox could never say no to using him as his ride. Stiles side eyed the wolf and huffed tilting his head.

Brett smiled and huffed back a pleased rumble sounding in his chest when Stiles hopped onto his back and settled in. The summer sun was warm on their fur and they didn't have to be back for awhile yet. So Brett found their spot and curled up with Stiles on top of him, the wolf and the fox deciding to enjoy the sunshine before playing some more.

Stiles was happy because only Brett could settle his fox and only Brett took the time to do so. He wondered if Brett knew that his fox sees him as a mate. Brett on the other hand was planning to ask to court Stiles that night after dinner. Stiles would most likely say yes but that doesn't mean Brett wasn't nervous about asking and even though he had planned to head to his room and make sure everything was ready he saw the look in Stiles's eye and knew that it wasn't about being perfect. It was about being what his mate needed. So spending the rest of his afternoon playing with the fox was exactly what he did.
